WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Has COVID-19

WWE announced Monday that Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in quarantine. This news comes only days after WWE announced McIntyre will defend his title against Bill Goldberg at the Royal Rumble later this month.

McIntyre (real name Andrew McLean Galloway IV) addressed fans in a pre-recorded segment that aired on this week’s Monday Night RAW. In his message, the Scottish wrestler confirmed his positive COVID-19 diagnosis and quarantine. He also reported that he is so far asymptomatic.

McIntyre also said that he is proof that anyone can contract the virus and that everyone needs to work together to stop the pandemic. He further asked for everyone to wear their masks and to keep social distancing.

Drew McIntyre is in his second reign as WWE Champion. He defeated Randy Orton on November 16, 2020 on Monday Night RAW to become champion. Read more about McIntyre’s wrestling history.
