WWE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS PAY-PER-VIEW PREDICTIONS

Jey Uso vs. Oba Femi. King of the Ring Tournament Final
There is no universe where Jey Uso should be beating Oba Femi. Oba Femi has been on an absolute tear since his main roster debut, and a loss to Jey would kill his momentum by a ton. But keep in mind, this is the world of WWE, where illogical decisions happen all the time, so we actually do believe that Jey Uso will, unfortunately, come out on top. The best-case scenario with Jey winning is him winning by countout, maybe Brock Lesnar costs Oba Femi the match, and he’s left destroyed on the outside. Either way, though, does Jey vs Roman or Jey vs Cody/Sami/Gunther really sound that interesting? Not really. Either way, Jey Uso is winning.
Our prediction: Jey Uso
Iyo Sky vs. Liv Morgan. Queen of the Ring tournament final
It’s so weird that Liv Morgan is in this tournament. Why is the world champ in a tournament to crown a world title contender? Makes no sense to us. Liv Morgan does not need to win here; all that would happen is Liv vs Rhea at SummerSlam for both titles, which would do no one any good because there are too many talented women on the WWE roster who should be contending for the titles. That’s why we have two belts in the first place. Iyo Sky winning is the infinitely better option here; a rematch with Liv or Rhea at SummerSlam would be fun, and Liv winning benefits no one.
Our prediction: Iyo Sky
Trick Williams (c) vs. Ricky Saints. Singles match for the WWE United States Championship
This is probably the most predictable match of the night, as it is just an excuse to give Ricky Saints his first PLE appearance. Hopefully, these two get some time to work; they had some decent matches during their time in NXT together. Trick Williams is obviously coming out on top here, however, as he is just so over with the audience that they’d be stupid to take it off of him this early into his title reign. Trick Williams is retaining here, no doubt.
Our prediction: Trick Williams
Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins. Steel Cage match
This will probably be the final match of their series, and it’s been a pretty good one. Both guys have won a match, with Breakker winning at Backlash and Rollins winning on Raw a couple of weeks back. After Rollins cost Breakker and Theory the tag titles on Raw this past week, it only feels right for Breakker to get his win back here. Bron Breakker should be moving on to bigger things post Rollins, perhaps a Roman or Brock match? Either way, Breaker should destroy Rollins here.
Our prediction: Bron Breakker
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther vs. Sami Zayn. Triple threat match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Everyone seems locked in on either Zayn or Rhodes walking out with the title, but we actually think Gunther is going to win here. He’s been booked like a fool since moving to SmackDown, and it’s about time that people start taking him seriously again. He doesn’t have to pin Cody; he can pin Sami and call it a day. We also see Cody and Sami’s feud going on past this show, and that rivalry doesn’t need to be for the title. The best part about Drew’s title reign earlier in the year was how fresh it felt, and Gunther could bring the same thing to SmackDown.
Our prediction: Gunther
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill. Singles match for the WWE Women’s United States Championship
Finally, after almost two years, the Women’s United States Championship is on a PLE. We know Tiffany Stratton won the title only a few weeks ago, but it feels right for Jade to win here, especially if Jade wins and is challenged by Charlotte, that’s possibly the biggest match you could do for the US title. Unfortunate circumstances for Tiffany Stratton, but it’s realistic that she loses the title to Jade here.
Our prediction: Jade Cargill
