NXT VENGEANCE DAY MATCH CARD

Wes Lee (c) defeated Dijak. Singles match for the NXT North American Championship

OUR PREDICTION: DIJAK
WINNER: WES LEE
RATING: 8/10

This was the best match of the night so it’s unfortunate that it had to start off the show. Wes Lee went out there and proved everyone wrong by showing he is so much more than a tag team guy. Dijak also looked terrific out there and broke his finger during the match. After going back and forth Dijak had the upper hand before Tony D’Angelo came out to distract Dijak and Wes Lee capitalized on the distraction winning the match. This will most likely result in a triple threat match for the title at Stand and Deliver where hopefully Dijak wins the title. This was a great opener and set the tone for the show very well.

Fallon Henley and Kiana James (with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen) defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter (c). Tag team match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: KATANA CHANCE & KAYDEN CARTER
WINNER: FALLON HENLEY & KIANA JAMES
RATING: 6/10

The weakest match of the night was still decent as this match was short and straight to the point. It was nice seeing Henley and James work together as it seems we finally have another tag team in the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship division. They need to form some more tag teams soon though or this reign will be a boring one. The match ended after Henley rolled up the champions with James pulling down the leg to help gain the pin. A fine match that probably should have been given a little more time.

Carmelo Hayes (with Trick Williams) defeated Apollo Crews. Two out of three falls match

OUR PREDICTION: CARMELO HAYES
WINNER: CARMELO HAYES
RATING: 7/10

Carmelo Hayes is amazing. Apollo Crews is also really good, and these two just went out there and had a solid wrestling match. Carmelo Hayes winning 2-0 was the correct choice as he is just on a completely different level compared to Apollo Crews. Hayes got the first fall after hitting Crews with a crossface. After this Commander Azeez returned to help Crews as he took out Trick Williams. This still wasn’t enough though as Hayes took out Crews with his finisher “Nothing but Net” for the win. Really good match that showed how good Carmelo Hayes is.

Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) (c), Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson), and Chase University (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson) (with Thea Hail). Fatal four-way tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: CHASE UNIVERSITY
WINNER: GALLUS
RATING: 8/10

Chase University should have won. But other than the wrong choice of winner this was a really fun match. Complete chaos throughout, and Chase University were loved by the crowd throughout as well as The New Day. After Gallus threw Duke Hudson through a table though we all knew the end was coming as back in the ring Mark Coffey hit Xavier Woods with a crazy powerbomb for the win. Good choice of winner, even though Chase University deserved it. At least they didn’t get pinned. Really fun match.

Roxanne Perez (c) defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship

OUR PREDICTION: ROXANNE PEREZ
WINNER: ROXANNE PEREZ
RATING: 7/10

This was a really fun match to be fair. Wasn’t a huge fan of the whole thing with Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne fighting each other since they’re the best women’s tag team WWE has right now, but the match still had a lot of fun action. Of course Roxanne Perez continued to prove why she is a future WrestleMania main eventer with her skills in the ring improving each time she steps in the ring. After Roxanne Perez throws Jacy Jayne out of the ring she then hit Gigi Dolin with the Pop Rox to retain her title. Fun title match with the right winner, hopefully Mandy Rose comes back because Toxic Attraction feels incomplete without her.

Bron Breakker (c) defeated Grayson Waller. Steel Cage match for the NXT Championship

OUR PREDICTION: BRON BREAKKER
WINNER: BRON BREAKKER
RATING: 7/10

This was a good main event but it felt like it was lacking something, don’t get us wrong it was still an awesome time, but it felt incomplete. Maybe it was the short length, or the lack of big spots but this wasn’t a traditional NXT main event. Grayson Waller has never looked better, and hopefully he gets a title run sometime this year, and of course Breakker won which was deserved. The only great spot of this match was the last one with Bron Breakker hitting an insane superplex off of the top of the cage. After this he retained his title in a good match.
