THE ROCK’S DAUGHTER DEBUTS ON NXT AS AVA RAINE

Simone Johnson has made her WWE debut

On last night’s episode of NXT, Ava Raine (Simone Johnson) was revealed as the mysterious new member of the faction, Schism. Joe Gacy, the leader of Schism, addressed the NXT crowd while wrestlers in yellow masks stood on a podium behind him. Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler had already been revealed as members of the group. Finally, after months of anticipation Johnson revealed removed her red hoodie and mask.

“The love and acceptance the Schism has given me defies any preconceived notions of who I’m supposed to be,” she said. “This family completes me. I am Ava Raine!”

In February 2020, WWE announced that Simone Johnson had begun training at its WWE Performance Center in Orlando Florida. She is a fourth-generation WWE wrestler and follows in the footsteps of her dad, grandfather Rock and great-grandfather Peter Maivia. Her great-grandmother, Lia Maivia, was also one of wrestling’s first female promoters.
