EDGE VS FINN BALOR IN ‘I QUIT’ MATCH AT EXTREME RULES
WWE has set another brutal match for next week’s pay-per-view, Extreme Rules. The Rated R-Superstar, Edge, is set to take on Judgement Day’s Finn Bálor in an epic “I Quit” match. Edge returned to WWE TV on September 26th after suffering a grade 2 MCL sprain as a result of the Judgement Day’s assault on him after his match against Dominik Mysterio.
For those not familiar with an “I Quit” match, it is a type of professional wrestling submission match where the only way to win is to make the opponent say the words “I quit.” “I quit” matches are commonly used to settle kayfabe grudges and embarrass rivals since saying “I quit” is usually a sign of admitted inferiority.
WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view takes place on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network internationally.
