MONEY IN THE BANK 2022 RECAP AND REVIEW

Money in the Bank Women's Ladder Match: Liv Morgan won

Liv Morgan defeated Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shotzi. Money in the Bank ladder match for a women’s championship match contract

OUR PREDICTION: LIV MORGAN
WINNER: LIV MORGAN
RATING: 5/10

This was a really solid match to kick off the show but it did have a few botches. Shotzi messed up a few times and Liv Morgan almost messed up her sunset flip powerbomb which could have ended poorly. This match did have a good spot with Becky Lynch jumping on top of Asuka when she was laying down on a ladder. Raquel Rodriguez looked really strong in this match as she dominated the competition. The best part of this match though was the ending. It looked as if Becky Lynch was about to win and Liv Morgan stole it for herself and this lead to her cashing in on Ronda Rousey later in the night. This was still a messy match and it wouldn’t have been as good if it weren’t for the ending.

Bobby Lashley defeated Theory (c). Singles match for the WWE United States Championship

OUR PREDICTION: BOBBY LASHLEY
WINNER: BOBBY LASHLEY
RATING: 4/10

This match was just here to set up Theory winning the ladder match in the main event. It wasn’t bad at all, but it was more of an angle than a match. Theory was meant to look weak so that way in the main event it would look like he was handed the briefcase, and it worked. The match was mostly Theory running away from Lashley though and just because it helped the story, doesn’t mean it was good in ring. So this match was unfortunately disappointing.

Bianca Belair (c) defeated Carmella. Singles match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship

OUR PREDICTION: BIANCA BELAIR
WINNER: BIANCA BELAIR
RATING: 5/10

The only problem with this match is that it was so predictable. In ring was actually pretty good and Carmella looked impressive, with the only thing we would change being more time for the match. Bianca Belair’s title reign hasn’t been the greatest so far, other than that one match at Hell in a Cell. So hopefully their next match has more time. Still it was fine, but lacked any depth and had no importance. They also teased a Liv Morgan cash in after the match but it did not happen.

The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) (c) defeated The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Tag team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: THE USOS
WINNER: THE USOS
RATING: 9/10

This was the best match of the night and possibly match of the year so far. The Usos and The Street Profits went out there and showed the world why they are two of the best tag teams in the world. It was back and forth the whole time, and it even made you think that The Street Profits had a chance to win. The ending of the match was also perfect as The Usos pinned Montez Ford, but his shoulder was still up as the referee did not see it. This means we will be getting a rematch at SummerSlam most likely. This was the best match of the night.

Ronda Rousey (c) defeated Natalya. Singles match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

OUR PREDICTION: RONDA ROUSEY
WINNER: RONDA ROUSEY
RATING: 6/10

This match was actually way better than expected. It was nice to see but at the same time it was a little unbelievable. Are we supposed to believe that Natalya was able to stand up to Ronda Rousey? She should not have looked as strong as she did. This was a technical wrestling match with the conclusion being both women trying to lock each other’s submissions onto the other. Natalya locked the sharpshooter onto Ronda Rousey, until she reversed it into the cross armbreaker for the win. After the match Liv Morgan cashed in to become the new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion in a great moment. The match was good if not a little short.

Theory defeated Drew McIntyre, Madcap Moss, Omos, Riddle, Sami Zayn, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, and Sheamus. Money in the Bank ladder match for a world championship match contract

OUR PREDICTION: DREW MCINTYRE
WINNER: THEORY
RATING: 8/10

This was a great ladder match but the only problem was the predictability. There was no point in adding Theory to this match unless he was going to win it. Still, Omos made this match different as everyone had to team up on him. Whether it was throwing ladders at him or throwing him through tables, everyone made the Nigerian Giant look amazing. Some highlights in the match were Sheamus and Drew McIntyre working together until they beat the hell out of each other, and Riddle’s amazing RKO to Seth Rollins off of the side of a ladder. Sadly Madcap Moss got no reaction from the crowd at all. But the ending of this match was Riddle climbing the ladder until Theory pushed him off to take the briefcase for himself. This match was great, as it always is, and Theory is the perfect person to hold the briefcase. Great way to close out the show.
