Candice LeRae won't be returning to WWE

WWE’s NXT is down another superstar – Candice LeRae won’t be returning to WWE. Candice LeRae’s contract with WWE was set to expire this spring and there were rumors her contract would be extended due to her time away because of injuries and pregnancy. Multiple sources online were speculating that she would still be with the company until early 2023. However, WWE moved LeRae to their official Alumni roster this morning. Fightful Select has also confirmed that her contract has expired. Along with her husband, Johnny Gargano, LeRae is now a free agent.

Candice LeRae began wrestling with WWE in 2017. During her career with WWE, she held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Title alongside Indi Hartwell. She was also a member of the NXT stable, The Way. LeRae announced her pregnancy in August 2021 but remained on TV in a non-wrestling role. She last wrestled at WWE’s NXT Great American Bash.

No word yet on whether LeRae and Gargano will wrestle with AEW or other promotions. Apparently WWE wanted to re-sign the couple but obviously contract talks were no successful.
