WWE COMMENTATOR PAT MCAFEE TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
WWE’s SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee announced today that he has tested positive for COVID-19. McAfee announced he tested positive on his Twitter account and shared that despite being full vaccinated, he has contracted the virus.
McAfee, who is a former Indianapolis Colts punter, has been working as a commentator for WWE since 2018. He first worked as a preshow analyst for NXT TakeOver events and then briefly as a wrestler on NXT in 2020. He was defeated by Adam Cole in a singles match at NXT TakeOver 30 in August 2020. He began his tenure with the wrestling promotion as a preshow analyst for NXT Takeover events. He then led the Kings of NXT stable against the Undisputed Era at NXT WarGames in December 2020.
McAfee has been partnered with Michael Cole as the commentary team on Friday Night SmackDown since April 2021. It’s unclear how long McAfee will be away from WWE television since testing positive.
