Andrade Released from WWE
After weeks of speculation, WWE has confirmed that Mexican professional wrestler Andrade (real name Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza) has been released from his contract with the company. WWE released the following statement on its website: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors.“
Oropeza signed a developmental contract with WWE in November 2015. A month later, he reported to the WWE’s Performance Center where he focused initially on improving his English language skills with the help of Sarah Stock, a WWE trainer who worked for CMLL for almost a decade. He made his WWE in-ring debut at an NXT house show in Tampa, Florida on January 8, 2016, wrestling under the name “Manny Andrade” and defeating Riddick Moss.
During his wrestling career with WWE, Andrade won the NXT Championship and the United States Championship. He has also been in a relationship with fellow professional wrestler Charlotte Flair since February 2019 and the two became engaged in January 2020.
