WWE The Fiend vs Randy Orton

TLC 2020 Matches

Drew McIntyre (c) defeated AJ Styles (with Omos) and The Miz (with John Morrison), Triple Threat Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the WWE Championship

OUR PREDICTION: DREW MCINTYRE
WINNER: DREW MCINTYRE
RATING: 8/10

RECAP: This match was really good and one of the best TLC matches of all time. The match was fast paced from the get-go and McIntyre and Styles both looked great. It was a fair and balanced match as A.J. kept targeting the legs of McIntyre. The match reached its peak when The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and almost won the belt before being thrown out of the ring through a table by Omos.

Omos then chased John Morrison, who was The Miz’s back-up, all the way backstage. The match ended with The Miz and A.J. Styles both on the ladder and getting pushed off by Drew McIntyre where he climbed up and retained his championship. Overall a great way to kick off the show and a really good way to space out the two separate TLC matches on the card.

Sasha Banks (c) defeated Carmella (with Reginald Thomas) by submission, Singles match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

OUR PREDICTION: SASHA BANKS
WINNER: SASHA BANKS
RATING: 7/10

RECAP: This was a surprisingly good match as Carmella is not known for being particularly good in the ring. But while she was gone she has clearly improved a lot and put on a great showing. She was a believable challenger to Sasha Banks. Reginald Thomas helped Carmella with some cheating tactics and the match ended with Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement for the win. This match was overall way better than expected.

The Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin) (with MVP) defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) (c), Tag team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: THE NEW DAY
WINNER: THE HURT BUSINESS
RATING: 7/10

RECAP: This felt like more of the same we have seen on Monday Night RAW – a dependable, average match you would expect out of these four men in the ring. The only difference this time is that Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin won the match and the titles. Kofi Kingston also lost a few teeth during the match as well. Cedric Alexander won the match for his team after hitting a Lumbar Check. Overall, a fast paced and fun match that could have easily kicked off the show as well tonight.

Asuka and Charlotte Flair defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (c), Tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: NIA JAX AND SHAYNA BASZLER
WINNER: ASUKA AND CHARLOTTE FLAIR
RATING: 5/10

RECAP: This match was built up around the matter of who would be Asuka’s tag team partner since Lana was removed earlier this week because of a kayfabe injury. Charlotte Flair’s entrance music played and she returned to WWE after being on the injury list for several months. This match was the weakest of the night but had a feel good moment at the end. Shayna and Nia did not look weak in defeat either. The best outcome of this match would have had Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retaining those championships just due to the fact that Asuka and Charlotte don’t really need them. Overall, a fine match that needed a different outcome.

Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) defeated Kevin Owens, Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWE Universal Championship

OUR PREDICTION: ROMAN REIGNS
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS
RATING: 9/10

RECAP: This was the match of the night! These two men went out there as if there was a crowd and put on one of the best matches of the year. Kevin Owens made sure Roman Reigns looked like the toughest man in the business. Jey Uso also helped Roman during the match ensuring that Owens would lose. The match ended after Roman Reigns made Kevin Owens pass out on top of the ladder and he fell off and then Roman grabbed the title. Overall a great match that definitely stole the show.

Randy Orton defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, Firefly Inferno match

OUR PREDICTION: RANDY ORTON
WINNER: RANDY ORTON
RATING: 5/10

RECAP: The feud was great, the match, not so much. It was slow and boring and dragged on far too long. It really had no place going on after Reigns vs Owens. The match did pick up closer to the end so it wasn’t the worst match on the card but it was very underwhelming. The match ended after Orton set Wyatt on fire in the middle of the ring. This rivalry will continue in the future. Overall a lackluster way to end the show.
