Man Arrested For Attempted Kidnapping of WWE’s Sonya Deville

A South Carolina man was arrested on August 16 2020 for attempting to kidnap WWE Superstar Sonya Deville (real name Daria Berenato).

According to reports, Phillip A. Thomas II, 24, had been planning the abduction for eight months and was stalking Berenato on social media for years.

Around 2:30 AM, Thomas entered Berenato’s home after she had gone to bed but upon entering, the home’s security system was activated. The homeowner spotted Thomas on her property and called 911 while leaving the home.

When police arrived, they found Thomas still in the house and was found carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items and he told the authorities he was planning to take the homeowner hostage.
