R-TRUTH ANNOUNCES HIS RELEASE FROM WWE

Veteran WWE Superstar R-Truth (real name Ron Killings) has officially parted ways with WWE following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to a remarkable 17-year tenure with the company. The 53-year-old announced his departure on June 1, 2025, via social media, where he thanked WWE and his fans for their unwavering support.
R-Truth began his wrestling journey in 1997 and initially signed with WWE in 1999, debuting under the ring name K-Kwik. After a brief run, he was released in 2001 but found major success in TNA Wrestling, where he made history as the first recognized Black NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He returned to WWE in 2008 as R-Truth, where he remained a beloved and consistent presence for nearly two decades.
Over the course of his WWE career, R-Truth earned multiple accolades, including:
- 2-time United States Champion
- 2-time Tag Team Champion
- A record-setting 54 reigns as WWE 24/7 Champion, a title he helped define with his unique brand of humor and athleticism.
In the months leading up to his departure, R-Truth participated in a brief but nostalgic storyline involving John Cena, which culminated in a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. His final WWE appearance came in a match against JC Mateo on SmackDown.
News of his departure sparked an emotional reaction across the wrestling world. Fellow WWE Superstar Kevin Owens praised him as an “incredible, timeless performer,” while The Miz fondly recalled their days as The Awesome Truth, calling it one of the best tag team runs of his career.
