WWE CROWN JEWEL 2023 MATCH CARD
Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) defeated Drew McIntyre. Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
WINNER: SETH ROLLINS
OUR PREDICTION: SETH ROLLINS
RATING: 7/10
This was a really good match with a glaring problem – it made Drew McIntyre look weak in defeat. They’re building up Seth Rollins and his injured back, yet Rollins still kicked out of a Claymore kick. Other than that, there were multiple false finishes, and it kept the match entertaining throughout. These two will never put on a bad match. Drew still needs the title though.
Rhea Ripley (c) defeated Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. Fatal five-way match for the Women’s World Championship
WINNER: RHEA RIPLEY
OUR PREDICTION: RHEA RIPLEY
RATING: 8/10
The match was really fun, but sadly too predictable. It also leaves no one left for Ripley to defend her title against. The match was fast paced and everyone got their own chance to shine, even Nia Jax. There was a really good superplex spot with Nia Jax taking the biggest bump of the match. The match ended with a unique finish with Ripley hitting Starks with a Riptide on top of everyone else. Great stuff with the right winner.
Solo Sikoa defeated John Cena. Singles match
WINNER: SOLO SIKOA
OUR PREDICTION: JOHN CENA
RATING: 5/10
The match itself wasn’t anything special but the moment that it created was. Solo Sikoa looked like an absolute monster while Cena looked ready to leave WWE at least for a while. Solo Sikoa won the slow paced match after hitting John Cena with an absurd amount of Samoan Spikes. Hopefully Solo is Roman’s next challenger after that performance.
Logan Paul defeated Rey Mysterio. Sinlges match for the WWE United States Championship
WINNER: LOGAN PAUL
OUR PREDICTION: LOGAN PAUL
RATING: 8/10
This was a really fun match, Logan Paul just gets the industry. The match was fast paced and halfway through the match Logan Paul even saved Rey Mysterio from a potential neck injury showing the world how good he really is. Rey Mysterio wasn’t doing much with the title, so having Logan Paul win was the best choice. The match ended after Santos Escobar unintentionally gave Logan Paul brass knuckles which Logan used for the win. Great stuff and the match of the night.
Iyo Sky (c) defeated Bianca Belair by pinfall. Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship
WINNER: IYO SKY
OUR PREDICTION: IYO SKY
RATING: 8/10
This was another really good match between these two superstars. Their match earlier in the year at Backlash may be slightly better, but this match was still really good. The ending of the match had Kairi Sane make her WWE return and save Iyo Sky from losing the championship during a match where it really seemed she would. This will hopefully lead to WarGames between Damage CTRL and Team Bianca at Survivor Series. The match ended after Kairi interfered helping Iyo retain. Moment of the night right here.
Cody Rhodes defeated Damian Priest. Singles match
WINNER: CODY RHODES
OUR PREDICTION: CODY RHODES
RATING: 6/10
This was an exact copy and paste of what happens on Raw every week. Cody Rhodes vs Damian Priest was fine but did nothing for either man and was just there to give Cody something to do. Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and the rest of The Judgment Day came out as well, it was just a replay of Monday Night Raw essentially. The match was alright, and Cody Rhodes won after a Cross Rhodes.
Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) defeated LA Knight. Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS
OUR PREDICTION: ROMAN REIGNS
RATING: 7/10
LA Knight belongs in the main event scene. He did well in his match and actually hung in there with Roman Reigns. Jimmy Uso helped Roman Reigns retain as we all expected him to. Roman Reigns won’t lose the title at any event but WrestleMania at this point so we all knew Knight wasn’t winning here. The match actually had LA Knight being dominant throughout most of it leaving Roman Reigns vulnerable. At one point, it even seemed that Knight could’ve won the match. Roman Reigns then hit Knight with a spear however to retain. Good stuff here from both guys.
