Gunther is the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion

Gunther has made WWE history – he is now the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion. His reign reached the 454-day mark on September 7th which tied the Honky Tonk Man’s reign. Gunther became Intercontinental Champion on June 10th, 2022 when he defeated Ricochet on SmackDown. To ensure that his reign would be record-breaking, Gunther defeated Chad Gable in the main event of RAW this week.
