FLAIR RETURNS & WINS WWE WOMEN’S SMACKDOWN TITLE

Charlotte Flair returned to WWE on Friday Night SmackDown this week and beat Ronda Rousey to win the Women's WWE SmackDown Championship

John Cena wasn’t the only superstar who returned to WWE on this past week’s SmackDown episode. Charlotte Flair made her surprise return and beat Ronda Rousey to become the new WWE Women’s SmackDown champion. Flair hasn’t been on WWE TV since May after she lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey in an “I quit” match at WrestleMania Backlash. But on Friday’s show, Charlotte returned after Ronda Rousey’s successful match against Raquel Rodriguez and immediately challenged Ronda to a match. The champ accepted despite Shayna Baszler pleading with her not to. In the ring, after Ronda went for an armbar, Charlotte was able to counter it and pinned her shoulders on the mat, getting the three count.

The win means Charlotte is now a 14-time World Champion and edging closer to her father Ric Flair’s record of 16 reigns.
