WWE NXT: IN YOUR HOUSE 2022 RECAP & REVIEW
NXT IN YOUR HOUSE MATCH CARD
The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan) defeated Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde) (with Elektra Lopez). Six-man tag team match
OUR PREDICTION: TONY D’ANGELO, CHANNING “STACKS” LORENZO, AND TROY “TWO DIMES” DONOVAN
WINNER: TONY D’ANGELO, CHANNING “STACKS” LORENZO, AND TROY “TWO DIMES” DONOVAN
OUR RATING: 7/10
This was a great opening match for the show. The two factions put everything on the line in a fast-paced opener. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan really impressed in this match; they needed to impress since we know how good everyone else in the match is. The stipulation of the match being that the losing team would have to join the winning team was a great idea. It actually made this match feel important. After around 10 minutes of fast-paced action was the best moment of the match… Elektra Lopez passed Santos Escobar a pair of Brass Knuckles and Tony D’Angelo was given a crowbar. Stacks and Wilde were then hit with the weapons and both fell to the floor. Stacks then landed on top of Wilde to end the match.
Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) (c) defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Tag Team match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship
OUR PREDICTION: TOXIC ATTRACTION
WINNER: TOXIC ATTRACTION
OUR RATING: 6/10
This was another fast-paced match during the show and showed off four women who deserve to be seen more due to their skill level alone. This match had a lot of chain wrestling and tag team moves. They did a fake-out where they made it seem like Chance and Carter were going to win the titles until the finish where Jayne hit Carter with a cheap shot for the win. This was another fun match and definitely showed off the skill of all four women – hopefully we will get a rematch soon. The only problem with this match is that the storyline going into it sucked so it made it hard to care heading into it.
Carmelo Hayes (with Trick Williams) defeated Cameron Grimes (c). Singles match for the NXT North American Championship
OUR PREDICTION: CAMERON GRIMES
WINNER: CARMELO HAYES
OUR RATING: 7/10
These two have been having good matches since their feud started. whether they were one on one matches or involved other people such as Solo Sikoa, these two have always had good chemistry in the ring. The story of this match was that Trick Williams kept getting involved on behalf of Carmelo Hayes, which kept letting Carmelo Hayes get the upper hand. The match had a good spot where Cameron Grimes did a dive onto the outside to land on top of Hayes and Williams at the same time. At the end of the match, Trick Williams distracted the ref allowing Hayes to hit Grimes face first onto the turnbuckle before hitting him with an ax kick to win back his title. Another good match in their series but it most likely is the last one as Grimes will probably move to the main roster soon.
Mandy Rose (c) defeated Wendy Choo. Singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship
OUR PREDICTION: MANDY ROSE
WINNER: MANDY ROSE
OUR RATING: 5/10
This was the weakest point of the show. It wasn’t bad at all but it just lacked importance. Wendy Choo may possibly have the worst gimmick in NXT. Mandy Rose had a different ruthless style for this match though. She didn’t give Wendy Choo a second to breathe. Still this was a really one-sided match and as we said, it wasn’t bad, it was just hard to care about. The match ended after hitting Wendy Choo with a running knee, which was the end to an underwhelming match.
The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed and Julius Creed) defeated Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) (c). Tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship
OUR PREDICTION: THE CREED BROTHERS
WINNER: THE CREED BROTHERS
OUR RATING: 8/10
The stipulation of this match was that if The Creed Brothers lost they would be kicked out of Diamond Mine. The story of the match was that Pretty Deadly was trying to outsmart The Creed Brothers which worked really well. It added two different styles of wrestling into one match that made it really work. The Creed Brothers both wrestle like a young Brock Lesnar which is so cool to watch. The fast paced match had a really good spot of Brutus Creed hitting Pretty Deadly with a cannonball onto the outside of the ring. The match ended with Julius Creed hitting Kit Wilson with an amazing Shooting Star Press from the top rope, which won them the titles. This was the best match of the night by far, and it told a story with The Creed Brothers finally winning the titles.
Bron Breakker (c) defeated Joe Gacy. Singles match for the NXT Championship
OUR PREDICTION: BRON BREAKKER
WINNER: BRON BREAKKER
OUR RATING: 6/10
Another match that we weren’t looking forward to but wasn’t actually that bad. It wasn’t anywhere near the best thing on the card and the character work sucked but in the ring it delivered. We didn’t like how they portrayed Joe Gacy as a knockoff Bray Wyatt with his gestures, but Gacy made up for it by making Breakker look like a star. The match was actually really well-paced though, with Gacy playing mind games and Bron Breakker having to overcome them. In the end after a bunch of action, Breakker hit Gacy with one of the best spears we have ever seen.
