NXT: STAND & DELIVER MATCH CARD

Cameron Grimes defeated Carmelo Hayes (c) (with Trick Williams), Santos Escobar (with Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza and Elektra Lopez), Solo Sikoa, and Grayson Waller (with Sanga). Fatal five-way ladder match for the NXT North American Championship

OUR PREDICTION: CARMELO HAYES
WINNER: CAMERON GRIMES
RATING: 8/10

This match was crazy. It started out a bit weak but around the middle of the match things really started to pick up. Everyone got involved with this match including Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza, Sanga and Trick Williams. Grayson Waller almost broke his arm when he jumped off the top of a ladder, and Solo Sikoa was a walking highlight reel. Cameron Grimes was the one to eventually climb the ladder and retrieve the NXT North American Championship, dedicating his win to his late father. This was the perfect match to open up the show.

Tony D’Angelo (with AJ Galante) defeated Tommaso Ciampa. Singles match

OUR PREDICTION: TOMMASO CIAMPA
WINNER: TONY D’ANGELO
RATING: 7/10

This was Tommaso Ciampa’s final NXT match and it delivered. Both knew that this match was important and had to be special and both men did a great job. The only problem with this match is that it had to follow the ladder match that just happened moments prior so the crowd was a little tired. It was just a good wrestling match between two good wrestlers, with the only really interesting spot being the concrete on the floor being exposed. The best part of the match though was what happened after Triple H came out and hugged Tommaso Ciampa signifying that this was his last match in NXT.

MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) defeated Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) (c) and The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed and Julius Creed) (with Malcolm Bivens and Ivy Nile). Triple Threat Tag Team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

OUR PREDICTION: THE CREED BROTHERS
WINNER: MSK (NASH CARTER & WES LEE)
RATING: 8/10

This match did exactly what a multi team tag team match is meant to do: it kept you entertained and never had a dull moment. These are the three best tag teams and they’re all so different from the others. MSK are highflyers, The Creed Brothers are powerhouses and Imperium are technical wrestlers. This all balanced out so well and all the teams looked great. Our favourite spot in the match was Brutus Creed’s cannonball to the outside of the ring. The only complaint about this match is that MSK won, The Creed Brothers should have won and MSK should’ve gone to SmackDown.

Mandy Rose (c) defeated Cora Jade, Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai. Fatal four-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship

OUR PREDICTION: MANDY ROSE
WINNER: MANDY ROSE
RATING: 4/10

This match was just okay. It felt like it should have had more time since we all knew the main event wasn’t going to be that long. We don’t think that Mandy Rose should have retained. Cora Jade deserves that title as she has been one of the most consistent wrestlers since NXT 2.0 began. The main problem with this match is that it just wasn’t memorable at all. We can’t name one special spot in the match, it was just alright. Not worth a re-watch or might not even be worth a watch at all.

Gunther defeated LA Knight. Singles match

OUR PREDICTION: GUNTHER
WINNER: GUNTHER
RATING: 5/10

This was a decent match but could have been so much better if they were both given more time. This match was built around Gunther dominating most of the match with LA Knight getting a few bits of offense. Obviously, Gunther has big plans in NXT so this was a match that was just on the card to make him look good. The main problem was the time limit, but it was also a very predictable match. No one in their right mind thought that LA Knight was going to win, but hopefully he goes to the main roster soon. Gunther won the match with a powerbomb.

Dolph Ziggler (c) (with Robert Roode) defeated Bron Breakker. Singles match for the NXT Championship

OUR PREDICTION: BRON BREAKKER
WINNER: DOLPH ZIGGLER
RATING: 7/10

This match was short, but it was the only match that needed to be. Everyone thought Bron Breakker was going to go out there and destroy Dolph Ziggler, but that’s not what happened. Dolph Ziggler actually retained in a genuinely shocking moment. The whole match was basically Dolph Ziggler getting beat up the whole time until winning with help from Robert Roode, but the match was still really good and that didn’t take away from it at all. Bron Breakker is probably headed to the main roster now.
