Roman Macek is a 24-year-old professional wrestler and former American football player from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He is currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where he performs on NXT under the ring name, Luca Crusifino.
Luca Crusifino’s Pro Wrestling Career
After a tryout at the WWE Performance Center in April 2022, it was reported that Macek had signed with WWE. He was given the ring name Luca Crusifino and adopted the persona of a lawyer.
Ahead of his 2023 debut, Crusifino launched a website, crusifinolaw.com, to support his legal-themed character. The site features several in-universe elements, including “ongoing trials” in NXT, testimonials from Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo of The D’Angelo Family and an anonymous client, a promotional blurb about Crusifino and his fictional law firm, contact details, and “video evidence” related to various assault charges in NXT.
Luca Crusifino competed in the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament but lost to Tavion Heights in the first round. On February 27, he faced Dijak and lost again, but attacked him afterward with a crowbar, allowing Joe Gacy to strike. This marked Crusifino’s first face turn in WWE. He then hid Dijak’s crowbar behind the steel steps.
Tony D’Angelo, impressed by Crusifino, instructed Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to recruit him. At NXT: Roadblock on March 5, Crusifino was officially named consigliere of The D’Angelo Family. That night, he debuted on Evolve as their representative and later defeated Javier Bernal on the March 19 episode.
At NXT Stand & Deliver on April 19, Lorenzo turned on D’Angelo during a six-man tag against DarkState. The following episode, Crusifino met Lorenzo in a desert and was declared missing. He returned at NXT Battleground on May 25, seemingly helping Lorenzo defeat D’Angelo.
