LEXIS KING
Brian Zachary Pillman, a 31-year-old professional wrestler from Erlanger, Kentucky, currently competes in WWE’s NXT brand under the ring name Lexis King.
A second-generation wrestler, Brian Pillman Jr. is the son of the late wrestling legend Brian Pillman. He grew up in Erlanger, Kentucky, and attended Dixie Heights High School in nearby Edgewood, where he played football. After graduating in 2011, he enrolled at Northern Kentucky University and earned a degree in Information Systems.
Lexis King’s Early Wrestling Career
In February 2017, Pillman announced his decision to pursue a career in professional wrestling, following in his father’s footsteps. He trained under Lance Storm at the Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Pillman made his professional debut on January 28, 2018, competing for Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) in a match against Mike Del for the CZW Medal of Valor Championship. Although he lost by submission, it marked the beginning of his in-ring career.
Later that year, Pillman signed with Major League Wrestling (MLW). Upon his arrival, he was briefly mentored by Kevin Sullivan, a longtime rival of his father in WCW. However, Pillman soon turned on Sullivan and aligned himself with Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr., forming the New Era Hart Foundation. On July 9, 2021, it was reported that Pillman was no longer working with MLW as his contract had expired.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW)
In May 2019, Brian Pillman Jr. competed in the Casino Battle Royale at AEW’s debut pay-per-view, Double or Nothing. With MLW on hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic, he began appearing in AEW, wrestling on Dynamite and Dark while still under MLW contract. He returned to the ring on the July 7 episode of Dark, losing to Shawn Spears, and was mainly used as enhancement talent.
Later that month, Pillman teamed with Griff Garrison as The Varsity Blonds, a tribute to his father. Julia Hart joined the group in May 2021. Pillman signed a full-time AEW deal on July 12, 2021, but his contract expired on July 11, 2023.
