KELANI JORDAN
Lea Mitchell is a 26-year-old professional wrestler from Boynton Beach, Florida. She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the NXT brand under the ring name Kelani Jordan. She is a former one-time and inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Early Professional Wrestling Career
In August 2022, Jaylen Mitchell signed with WWE and reported to the WWE Performance Center to begin her professional wrestling training. She made her in-ring debut on October 28 at an NXT live event, participating in a battle royal.
On June 27, 2023, Mitchell made her official on-screen debut during NXT: Gold Rush. She debuted under the ring name Kelani Jordan. Later that year, Jordan competed in the 2023 NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. She advanced to the finals after defeating Izzi Dame in the first round and Arianna Grace in the semifinals, but ultimately lost to Lola Vice at Night 2 of NXT: Halloween Havoc.
On the November 28 episode of NXT, Jordan defeated Kiana James to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. Despite her efforts, she did not win the match at the event.
In early 2024, Kelani Jordan formed a short-term alliance with Fallon Henley and Chase University’s Thea Hail. At NXT Stand & Deliver on April 6, the trio defeated Jacy Jayne, Kiana James, and Izzi Dame in a six-woman tag team match.
Jordan Kelani Wins NXT Gold
On May 28, Jordan beat Wren Sinclair to qualify for the six-woman ladder match at NXT Battleground on June 9. She won the match, becoming the first-ever NXT Women’s North American Champion. Jordan made her first successful title defense on June 18, defeating Michin after interference from Jaida Parker. She later feuded with Fatal Influence—Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx—who were after her title.
At NXT Halloween Havoc on October 27, Jordan defended her title in a gauntlet match against all three members. She eliminated Nyx and Jayne but lost to Henley, ending her 140-day reign.On January 7, 2025, at NXT: New Year’s Evil, Jordan faced Cora Jade, Stephanie Vaquer, and Lola Vice in a Fatal Four-Way to determine the number one contender for the title. Vaquer won and went on to win the championship.
Jordan rebounded on the April 1 episode of NXT, defeating Roxanne Perez to qualify for a six-woman ladder match at NXT Stand & Deliver. The match was set to determine a new champion after Vaquer vacated the title that same night.
