Karmen Petrovic, born Monika Klisara, is a 29-year-old Bosnian-Canadian professional wrestler currently signed to WWE. She competes on the NXT brand.
Early Life and Martial Arts Background
Before stepping into the wrestling ring, Klisara was a highly accomplished competitive karate athlete. By the age of 17, she had earned positions on both the Canadian National Karate Team and the Ontario Provincial Team. She won gold medals at major tournaments such as the Fonseca Cup, the Ontario Provincial Championships, and the Ontario Summer Games, showcasing her elite athleticism early on.
Karmen Petrovic’s WWE Career
Monika Klisara made her WWE debut in November 2022 on NXT, competing under her real name. She officially re-debuted as Karmen Petrovic on the July 28, 2023 episode of NXT Level Up. She faced Ivy Nile in a losing effort at her in-ring debut.
On October 17, 2023, Petrovic earned her first televised singles victory. She defeated Jaida Parker in the opening round of the 2023 NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Petrovic was eliminated the following week in the semifinals by Lola Vice.
On July 2, 2024, Petrovic lost to Jazmyn Nyx after interference from Jacy Jayne. This lead to a tag match at NXT Heatwave on July 7. Teaming with Arianna Grace, the duo defeated Nyx and Jayne. A post-match disagreement between Grace and Petrovic prompted NXT General Manager Ava to schedule a match between them.
In September 2024, Petrovic began an on-screen romance with Ashante “Thee” Adonis. They teamed up on the November 19 episode of NXT. At the match, they defeated Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox in a mixed tag team match. Their relationship was made official on January 14, 2025.
On February 18, Karmen Petrovic won a triple threat match against Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan. As a result, she earned a shot at the NXT Women’s North American Championship. She was unsuccessful in her title match against Stephanie Vaquer the following week. On April 29, Adonis scheduled a surprise match for her against new champion Sol Ruca. Petrovic lost to Sol Ruca due to being unprepared. She then attacked Adonis, ending their on-screen relationship.
