JIMMY USO

Jonathan Solofa Fatu, better known by his ring name Jimmy Uso, is a 40-year-old professional wrestler from San Francisco, California. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand.

Early Life and Wrestling Background

Jonathan is part of the legendary Anoaʻi family of Samoan wrestlers. Trained since childhood by his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, Jimmy began his professional wrestling career in 2009 alongside his twin brother Joshua Fatu, known in WWE as Jey Uso.

On January 14, 2009, Jimmy and Jey debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) as The Fatu Brothers, defeating The Rotundo Brothers. Two months later, they captured the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship by defeating The Fortunate Sons. Their reign ended in June when they lost the titles to Los Aviadores.

WWE Main Roster Debut

In May 2010, the brothers debuted on WWE’s RAW brand as Jimmy and Jey Uso. They initially feuded with The Hart Dynasty, making their in-ring debut with a victory over Goldust and Mark Henry. At the Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view, they lost to The Hart Dynasty in their first WWE pay-per-view match.

The Usos’ Early Feuds and First Title Win

From 2011 to 2013, The Usos competed in several tag team rivalries but struggled to win championships. In May 2013, they finally defeated The New Age Outlaws on RAW to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships. They defended the titles against teams such as The Wyatt Family, The Real Americans, Ryback and Curtis Axel, and Los Matadores. Their reign lasted 202 days before losing to Goldust and Stardust at Night of Champions.

Multiple Tag Team Championship Reigns

Jimmy and Jey became six-time tag team champions in WWE. In 2014, they won the WWE (now RAW) Tag Team Championships twice. During the 2016 WWE Draft, The Usos were moved to SmackDown, where they debuted a new heel persona with a street-inspired gimmick.

SmackDown Success

In March 2017, The Usos defeated American Alpha to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, becoming the first team to hold both the RAW and SmackDown tag titles. Their reign lasted 124 days. They continued their success, winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championships multiple times between 2017 and 2019.

Injury and Return

In May 2020, Jimmy suffered a knee injury during WrestleMania 36, sidelining him for several months. Jey briefly competed in singles competition, even challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Jimmy returned on May 7, 2021, sparking tensions with Jey and Reigns before eventually aligning with them in The Bloodline faction.

Alliance with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline

The Usos joined forces with Roman Reigns to dominate WWE’s tag team division. At Money in the Bank 2021, they defeated The Mysterios to capture their fifth SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Their dominance continued with title defenses against The Street Profits, The Mysterios, and The New Day.

Record-Breaking Reign

On July 18, 2022, The Usos became the first team to hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championships for over a year. They later broke The New Day’s record, becoming the longest-reigning male tag team champions in WWE history. At Survivor Series WarGames 2022, The Bloodline defeated Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, and The Brawling Brutes in a WarGames match.

Tensions in The Bloodline

In early 2023, friction between The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns grew. At the Royal Rumble, Zayn turned on Reigns, leading to major storyline developments. At WrestleMania 39, The Usos main-evented night one, losing their RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. This ended their historic 622-day SmackDown reign and 316-day RAW reign.

Jimmy Uso Breaks Away from The Bloodline

At Night of Champions 2023, Jimmy turned against Roman Reigns by super-kicking him, leading to his removal from The Bloodline. Alongside Jey, The Usos feuded with Reigns and Solo Sikoa. At Money in the Bank, they defeated Reigns and Sikoa in a “Bloodline Civil War” match, with Jey pinning Reigns for his first direct loss since 2019.

SummerSlam 2024 and Heel Turn

At SummerSlam 2024, Jimmy appeared to betray Jey, pulling him out of the ring and superkicking him, allowing Roman Reigns to retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. On the August 11 episode of SmackDown, Jimmy explained that he acted out of fear that Jey would be corrupted by power. Jey responded by superkicking Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy before quitting WWE.

Confrontations and 2024 Royal Rumble

Jimmy later confronted John Cena on SmackDown, aided Solo Sikoa in a match, and cemented his heel turn. At Fastlane 2024, he and Sikoa lost a tag team match to Cena and LA Knight. He also attacked Jey on Raw, assisting The Judgment Day in capturing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. Jimmy competed in the 2024 Royal Rumble, entering at number 2 and lasting 34 minutes before being eliminated by Bron Breakker. At WrestleMania XL, he was defeated by Jey, and following SmackDown, he was removed from The Bloodline, turning face again and taking time off due to injury.

Singles Comeback and Reunion with Jey Uso

After nearly six months, Jimmy returned at Bad Blood 2024, assisting Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes in defeating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. On the October 25 episode of SmackDown, Jimmy reunited with Jey as they took on The Bloodline, officially reuniting The Usos.

Crown Jewel and Survivor Series 2024

At Crown Jewel on November 2, The Usos and Reigns lost a Six-Man Tag Team match to Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu. At Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30, Jimmy, Jey, Reigns, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk defeated The Bloodline and Bronson Reed.

Early 2025 Singles Feuds

In early 2025, Jimmy feuded with Carmelo Hayes, winning a rematch on January 31 after an initial disqualification on January 17. He also participated in the 2025 Royal Rumble, entering at number 10 before being eliminated by Jacob Fatu.
