Wrestling Legacy and Family Background
Jacob Fatu is a proud member of the legendary Anoaʻi wrestling family, one of the most iconic dynasties in professional wrestling history. He is the son of Sam Fatu, known in the ring as Tama and The Tonga Kid, and the nephew of WWE legends Rikishi (Solofa Fatu Jr.) and Umaga (Eddie Fatu). Jacob was trained by his uncle Rikishi, continuing the family’s storied tradition in the ring.
Jacob Fatu’s Early Career and Independent Circuit (2012–2018)
Fatu began his wrestling career in 2012, debuting in a tag team match alongside his relative Black Pearl. Between 2013 and 2015, he wrestled extensively on the California independent scene, often teaming with fellow Anoaʻi family members. In 2018, Fatu expanded internationally with a debut in Mexico’s The Crash Lucha Libre, competing in a trios match against legends Octagón and Blue Demon Jr.
Breakout in Major League Wrestling (MLW)
On January 17, 2019, Fatu signed with Major League Wrestling (MLW), joining relatives Samu and Lance Anoaʻi. He made his in-ring debut at SuperFight and soon aligned with Josef Samael and Simon Gotch to form the feared faction Contra Unit.
