JACOB FATU

Fatu captured the MLW World Heavyweight Championship on July 6, 2019, defeating Tom Lawlor. His reign lasted a record-setting 819 days, with successful defenses against stars like LA Park, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Brian Pillman Jr. He eventually lost the title to Alex Hammerstone at Fightland in 2021. Following the split of Contra Unit, Fatu turned face and entered a heated rivalry with Mads Krügger, culminating in a brutal Weapons of Mass Destruction match. In 2022, he won the Battle Riot IV, earning a title shot in 2023, though he fell short in reclaiming the world title. He rebounded by capturing the MLW National Openweight Championship in April 2023, before dropping it in September.

Fatu became a free agent on February 1, 2024, ending a successful five-year run with MLW. His final MLW appearance came on February 17, where he lost to Krügger in a Baleki Brawl match.

Fatu Joins New Japan Pro-Wrestling

On January 13, 2024, at Battle in the Valley, Fatu made his New Japan Pro-Wrestling debut, teaming with Shota Umino and Fred Rosser to defeat Team Filthy.

Jacob Fatu’s WWE Debut and Rise (2024–Present)

Before signing with WWE, Jacob Fatu was originally scheduled to appear at Raw is XXX in January 2023 for Roman Reigns’ Acknowledgement Ceremony, but legal issues between MLW and WWE blocked the appearance.

On April 7, 2024, it was reported that Fatu officially signed with WWE. He debuted on the June 21 episode of SmackDown, attacking Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens, aligning himself with his cousin Solo Sikoa as the newest member of The Bloodline.

Fatu made his in-ring debut at Money in the Bank on July 6, teaming with Sikoa and Tama Tonga to defeat Rhodes, Orton, and Owens in a six-man tag match. On August 2, Fatu and Tonga won the WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), marking Fatu’s first WWE title. Later that month, he handed his title to Tonga Loa to become Sikoa’s enforcer.

At Bad Blood (October 5), Fatu and Sikoa suffered their first loss to Reigns and Rhodes due to interference from Jimmy Uso. They bounced back at Crown Jewel (November 2), defeating the original Bloodline trio of Reigns and The Usos. However, at Survivor Series: WarGames (November 30), Fatu, Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Bronson Reed lost to Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk.

Feud with Braun Strowman and U.S. Title Reign (2025)

In January 2025, following Sikoa’s loss of the Ula Fala and Tribal Chief title to Reigns, Fatu began a feud with Braun Strowman. He lost to Strowman via disqualification on Saturday Night’s Main Event (January 25) and was eliminated by him in the Royal Rumble (February 1) after eliminating four competitors. On February 14, Fatu lost an Elimination Chamber qualifying match to Damian Priest.

The rivalry culminated in a Last Man Standing match on April 4, where Fatu defeated Strowman to earn a WWE United States Championship match at WrestleMania 41. On Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 (April 19), Fatu defeated LA Knight to win his first singles title in WWE. He successfully defended the title at Backlash (May 10) in a fatal four-way match against Knight, Priest, and Drew McIntyre, with help from debuting ally JC Mateo (formerly Jeff Cobb).
