DION LENNOX

Andrzej Hughes-Murray is an American professional wrestler and former collegiate football player. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the NXT brand under the ring name Dion Lennox. He leads the rising heel faction known as Darkstate.

Early Life and Football Career

Before wrestling, Hughes-Murray built a strong football career. He played six seasons as a linebacker for the Oregon State Beavers. He missed the 2019 season due to injury. After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, he signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. He was released before playing in an official game.

WWE NXT Debut and Breakout Tournament (2023)

Hughes-Murray debuted in the ring on August 19, 2023, at a WWE NXT live event, where he lost to Joe Coffey. He appeared on television as Dion Lennox on the December 5, 2023 episode of NXT. That night, he was confirmed for the 2023 NXT Breakout Tournament. Lennox made his first televised in-ring appearance on NXT Level Up (December 8), where he lost to Brooks Jensen. He was eliminated in the tournament’s first round by Lexis King on the December 19 episode of NXT.

Storyline with Brinley Reece and Heel Turn (2024–2025)

In late 2024, Lennox became part of a romantic storyline with Brinley Reece. The angle involved a love triangle with Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Karmen Petrovic, and Nikkita Lyons. On November 19, Lennox and Reece lost a mixed tag match to Adonis and Petrovic. Their feud ended in a singles match on December 24, where Lennox lost to Adonis after interference from Lyons.

After multiple losses in early 2025, Lennox began to change his demeanor. On January 21, he showed a darker edge following a defeat to Wes Lee on NXT.

Formation of Darkstate and Rise to Prominence

Lennox officially turned heel at NXT Vengeance Day on February 15, 2025. He returned alongside Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin, launching surprise attacks on top NXT stars. Their targets included Josh Briggs, Yoshiki Inamura, NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom, and NXT Champion Oba Femi.

The group struck again at NXT: Roadblock (March 11), ambushing Je’Von Evans after his match. On the April 8 episode of NXT, Lennox, James, and Shugars won a six-man tag team match against Trick Williams, Evans, and Femi. This marked Darkstate’s first in-ring appearance as a unit.

At NXT Stand & Deliver on April 19, 2025, Lennox, Shugars, and Griffin defeated The D’Angelo Family. The match ended after Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo betrayed his team, securing the win for Darkstate and solidifying their dominance in NXT.
