BROOKS JENSEN

Benjamin Buchanan, better known by his WWE ring name Brooks Jensen, is a 23-year-old professional wrestler from Ranburne, Alabama. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and competes on the NXT brand.

Buchanan is a second-generation wrestler and the son of Bull Buchanan, a former WWE superstar who wrestled from 1997 to 2003. Carrying on his father’s legacy, Brooks Jensen brings a powerful style and Southern grit to the NXT roster.

Early Wrestling Career

Brooks Jensen began his professional wrestling journey on March 2, 2019, working across independent promotions in Alabama and Georgia. Between 2020 and 2021, he captured multiple Tag Team Championships and earned a Heavyweight Title, showcasing his rising potential. He quickly made a name for himself on the Southern wrestling circuit with consistent performances and championship victories.

Brooks Jensen Signs with WWE

On August 30, 2021, WWE officially announced Buchanan’s signing as part of a new class reporting to the WWE Performance Center. He made his televised debut on the September 14 episode of NXT 2.0 as Brooks Jensen, teaming with fellow newcomer Josh Briggs. The duo faced Imperium (Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner) in their debut match. Jensen and Briggs later competed in the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Jensen & Briggs Win Gold

On the June 22, 2022 taping of NXT UK, Jensen and Briggs won a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match to capture the vacant NXT UK Tag Team Championship. They became the first and only American tag team to win the titles, cementing their place in NXT history.

At NXT Stand & Deliver 2023, Brooks Jensen refused to help Kiana James cheat during her tag title defense, causing her and Fallon Henley to lose the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. The following week on NXT, tension grew as Jensen shoved Briggs during a title rematch, further straining their alliance. This led to a mixed tag match at NXT Spring Breakin’, where Briggs and Henley defeated Jensen and James. After the match, James walked out on Jensen, prompting him to reconcile with Briggs and Henley. Eventually, the trio mutually disbanded on the December 27 episode of NXT.

Brooks’ Kayfabe Release

On June 21, 2024, Jensen (kayfabe) announced on X that he had been released by WWE, launching a dramatic storyline. He began appearing at indie events and lurking in the background of NXT tapings, targeting Shawn Michaels, Senior VP of Talent Development Creative. Jensen intruded at the WWE Performance Center, leading to a confrontation with NXT GM Ava, who offered him a second chance after Briggs intervened. Later that night, he attacked Je’Von Evans, kicking off a heated feud.

The next week, after losing to Evans, Jensen brutally attacked him again. Briggs tried to stop the assault, prompting Jensen to challenge him to a No Disqualification match, which Jensen won thanks to interference from Shawn Spears. On August 13, Jensen acknowledged Spears as his mentor, turning heel for the first time in his WWE career. He went on to defeat Ashante “Thee” Adonis on the October 15 episode of NXT, solidifying his new, villainous persona alongside Spears.
