In February 2017, Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair to win the RAW Women’s Championship. She retained the title at WrestleMania 33 in a fatal four-way match but lost it to Alexa Bliss at Payback after a 76-day reign.
At WrestleMania 34, Bayley competed in the inaugural WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal and was the last eliminated. In 2018, she reunited with Sasha Banks to form a tag team after a lengthy feud.
Women’s Tag Team Success and SmackDown Transition
At Elimination Chamber 2019, Bayley and Sasha Banks became the first-ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They lost the titles at WrestleMania 35. Bayley was then drafted to SmackDown in the Superstar Shake-up, separating her from Banks.
At Money in the Bank 2019, Bayley won the briefcase and cashed it in later that night to defeat Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She lost the title at Hell in a Cell but regained it shortly after.
Bayley held the SmackDown Women’s Championship through the end of 2019 and into 2020. In June, she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship again with Banks, becoming a double champion. They lost the titles at Payback to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Shortly after, Bayley turned on Banks, ending their partnership.
At Hell in a Cell 2020, Bayley lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Sasha Banks after a historic 380-day reign. She failed to win the title back in their rematch.
2021–2022: Injuries and Return
Bayley captained Team SmackDown at Survivor Series 2020 and later began a feud with Bianca Belair. After losing to Belair several times in early 2021, Bayley was scheduled for another match at Money in the Bank but suffered a torn ACL in training and was sidelined.
Bayley returned at SummerSlam 2022, forming the faction Damage CTRL with IYO SKY and Dakota Kai. They resumed a feud with Belair and later challenged her team at Clash at the Castle. At Extreme Rules and Crown Jewel, Bayley unsuccessfully challenged Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship.
At Survivor Series WarGames 2022, Damage CTRL lost to Team Belair in a WarGames match.
2023: Return to SmackDown
Bayley entered the 2023 Royal Rumble as entrant #6 and eliminated five competitors before being eliminated by Liv Morgan. In the WWE Draft, she and her Damage CTRL teammates were moved to SmackDown.
Bayley and Dakota Kai challenged for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship but failed to win the titles. They later competed for the vacant belts but lost to Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. At Survivor Series WarGames, Bayley’s team lost to a team led by Becky Lynch.
2024: Royal Rumble Victory and Championship Run
At the 2024 Royal Rumble, Bayley entered at #3 and won the match by last eliminating Liv Morgan. She set a new record for the longest time in a women’s Royal Rumble match at 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 3 seconds.
Tension built between Bayley and her Damage CTRL teammates, leading to her being attacked by Asuka and Kairi Sane. She officially left the group and announced she would challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XL. On Night 2 of WrestleMania, Bayley defeated SKY to win the title.
She retained the title against Naomi on SmackDown, though the match ended in a no-contest due to interference from Tiffany Stratton. At Backlash: France, Bayley defeated both Naomi and Stratton in a triple threat match to retain the championship.
At Clash at the Castle: Scotland on June 15, Bayley defeated Piper Niven in her home country to retain the title. Her reign ended at SummerSlam on August 3, when she lost the championship to Queen of the Ring winner Nia Jax after Stratton interfered. Her reign lasted 118 days.
Late 2024–2025: Continued Rivalries and Brand Change
Bayley defeated Naomi to earn a rematch with Nia Jax at WWE Bad Blood on October 5 but once again lost due to interference from Stratton. At Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30, Bayley teamed with Naomi, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY to defeat Jax, Stratton, Candice LeRae, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez.
In early 2025, Bayley won a fatal four-way match on SmackDown to become the number one contender for the WWE Women’s Championship but failed to defeat Stratton. Shortly after, she was officially traded to the RAW brand.
Bayley competed in the 2025 Royal Rumble, eliminating Shayna Baszler before being eliminated by Nikki Bella. At NXT Vengeance Day, she was part of a fatal four-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade but did not win.
At Elimination Chamber: Toronto, she participated in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match and was eliminated by Liv Morgan. Bayley failed to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Lyra Valkyria on the April 7 episode of RAW, . On April 12, she and Valkyria won a tag team gauntlet match, earning a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 41 Night 2.
On April 19, during the WrestleMania Countdown show, Bayley was (kayfabe) attacked backstage and ruled out of the match. She was replaced by Becky Lynch. It was revealed on the April 28 episode of RAW that Lynch was the attacker.
After a nearly two-month absence, Bayley returned on the June 9 episode of RAW and launched a surprise attack on Becky Lynch, reigniting their rivalry.
