In February 2017, Bayley finally defeated Charlotte and became the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. At WrestleMania 33, she retained the title against Charlotte, Banks and Nia Jax in a fatal four-way elimination match. Her reign lasted 76 days and ended at Payback when she lost to Alexa Bliss.
At the WrestleMania 34 kickoff show, Bayley competed in the inaugural WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal and was the last woman eliminated from the match by its winner, Naomi. Throughout 2018, Bayley and Sasha Banks continued their feud but reconciled and created a tag team.
Bayley & Banks Win Tag Team Gold
At the 2019 Elimination Chamber, Bayley and Sasha Banks won the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a six team Elimination match. They lost the titles at WrestleMania 35 to the Ilconics. In 2019, Bayley was drafted to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up causing her to disband from Sasha Banks who remained on RAW.
At Money in the Bank, Bayley won the Women’s Money in the Bank title match. This granted her a women’s championship match at any time of her choosing. Later that night, she chose to cash in the contract and defeated Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time. Her reign lasted 140 days. Bayley lost the title at Hell in a Cell to Charlotte. On October 11, Bayley defeated Charlotte to regain her championship.
Bayley’s SmackDown Championship
Bayley defended her title successfully for the rest of 2019 and throughout 2020 at various pay-per-view events. She became a double champion in June when she and Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship for the second time.
Bayley and Banks’ title reign came to an end at PayBack. They lost the titles to the newly formed team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. They then failed to regain their titles the following night on SmackDown and ended up disbanding after Bayley turned on Banks.
At Hell In A Cell on October 25th, 2020, she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Sasha Banks. Her reign lasted 380 days. On the October 30 episode of SmackDown, Bayley challenged Banks to a title rematch. Sasha Banks accepted and had their re-match on the following SmackDown with Banks coming out on top.
At Survivor Series, she was the self-appointed captain of team SmackDown before she was eliminated by Peyton Royce. She then began a feud with Bianca Belair after defeating her in a match on the December 18th episode of SmackDown. She lost six weeks later on the January 29 episode of SmackDown.
Various Feuds
Bayley entered the 2021 Royal Rumble as entrant number one, but was eliminated by the eventual winner, Bianca Belair. Despite not winning the Royal Rumble, Bayley went on to defeat two members of the Riott Squad on the February 5 and 12 episodes of SmackDown, respectively.
On Night 2 of WrestleMania 37, Bayley came out and started insulting the hosts Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil, accusing the legends of disrespect, only to get beaten up by The Bella Twins. The following months she faced the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania Backlash and in a Hell in a Cell. She was booked to face Belair again at Money in the Bank. But on July 9th, WWE announced that Bayley suffered a torn ACL. This injury occurred during her training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Bayley has since been sidelined from WWE due to the ACL injury.
Bayley’s Return from Injury
At SummerSlam 2022, Bayley returned after a year out of action, forming an alliance with Iyo Sky (formerly known as Io Shirai) and Dakota Kai. They confronted Bianca Belair after her Raw Women’s Championship defense against Becky Lynch, resuming their feud and moving Bayley back to the RAW brand.
On the August 8th episode of RAW, they challenged Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka to a six-woman tag team match at Clash at the Castle, which they accepted. At the event on September 3rd, Bayley, Kai and Sky, under the name Damage CTRL, defeated Belair, Bliss and Asuka. On the September 26th episode of RAW Bayley challenged Belair to a ladder match for the RAW Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules, which she accepted.
At Extreme Rules on October 8th, Bayley failed to win the title. At Crown Jewel on November 5, Bayley failed to win the title in a Last Woman Standing match. Three weeks later At Survivor Series WarGames on November 26, Damage CTRL competed in a WarGames match, teaming with Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley. They battled Bianca Belair, Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and Becky Lynch but lost when Lynch pinned Kai after a diving leg drop from the top of the cage through a table.
Drafted to SmackDown
At the 2023 Royal Rumble in January, Bayley entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match as entrant number six. She eliminated five women including Lynch before being eliminated by Liv Morgan. As part of the 2023 WWE Draft, Bayley, along with stablemates Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, was drafted to the SmackDown brand.
On the May 12 episode of SmackDown, Kai and Bayley failed to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. After Morgan and Rodriguez vacated the titles due to Morgan suffering an injury, Bayley and Sky participated in a fatal four-way match for the vacant titles, but the match was won by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. At Survivor Series WarGames on November 25, Bayley, Sky, Asuka and Sane were defeated by Belair, Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Shotzi after Lynch pinned Bayley.
WWE Women’s Championship
At Royal Rumble 2024, Bayley won the women’s Royal Rumble match. She entered the match as contestant #3 and last eliminated Liv Morgan. Bayley also set a new record for the longest time spent in a single women’s Royal Rumble match at 1:03:03. She beat Rhea Ripley’s record from the previous year.
On the February 2 episode of SmackDown, Bayley confronted Iyo Sky, Sane and Asuka for talking about her behind her back. She was then attacked by Sane and Asuka, kicking her out of the group. Afterwards, Bayley announced she would challenge Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XL. On Night 2 of WrestleMania XL on April 7, Bayley defeated Sky to win her second WWE Women’s Championship.
On the April 19 episode of SmackDown, Bayley defended her title for the first time against Naomi, but the match ended in a no contest after Tiffany Stratton attacked both Naomi and Bayley. At Backlash France on May 4, Bayley successfully defeated Naomi and Stratton in a triple threat match to retain her title.
