At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley defeated Sasha Banks to win the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time. Bayley’s reign lasted 222 days before being defeated by Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 1, 2016.

Various Feuds

Bayley entered the 2021 Royal Rumble as entrant number one, but was eliminated by the eventual winner, Bianca Belair. Despite not winning the Royal Rumble, Bayley went on to defeat two members of the Riott Squad on the February 5 and 12 episodes of SmackDown, respectively.

On Night 2 of WrestleMania 37, Bayley came out and started insulting the hosts Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil, accusing the legends of disrespect, only to get beaten up by The Bella Twins. The following months she faced the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania Backlash and in a Hell in a Cell. She was booked to face Belair again at Money in the Bank. But on July 9th, WWE announced that Bayley suffered a torn ACL. This injury occurred during her training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Bayley has since been sidelined from WWE due to the ACL injury.

Bayley’s Return from Injury

At SummerSlam 2022, Bayley returned after a year out of action, forming an alliance with Iyo Sky (formerly known as Io Shirai) and Dakota Kai. They confronted Bianca Belair after her Raw Women’s Championship defense against Becky Lynch, resuming their feud and moving Bayley back to the RAW brand.

On the August 8th episode of RAW, they challenged Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka to a six-woman tag team match at Clash at the Castle, which they accepted. At the event on September 3rd, Bayley, Kai and Sky, under the name Damage CTRL, defeated Belair, Bliss and Asuka.
