ZOEY STARK

Theresa Serrano is a 30-year-old American professional wrestler from Utah. She is currently signed with the WWE and performs on the company’s RAW brand under the ring name, Zoey Stark.

Serrano made her in-ring debut in June 2013 at Vendetta Pro Wrestling where she lost to Hudson Envy. On November 16, 2013, she began wrestling using the ring name Lacey Ryan and won her first match against Larry Butabi. During this time, she also won the UCW-Zero Ultra-X Championship. Her title reign lasted until January 25, 2014, when she lost it to The Durango Kid. She went on a three year hiatus after her last match on March 22nd, 2014.

Serrano’s Return to Wrestling

On August 16, 2018, Serrano returned to wrestling for Dallas Championship Wrestling in a match against Thunder Rosa that ended in a no contest. The following month, she teamed with Thunder Rosa at DCW What Doesn’t Kill You in a tag match they lost to Lady Poison & Wesley Crane.

Beginning in January 2019, Serrano began a more active in-ring run, with matches for Sabotage Wrestling, Lucha Brutal (under the ring name Serrano), Championship Wrestling From Hollywood, Future Stars Of Wrestling, United Wrestling Network and SHIMMER Women Athletes

On September 29th 2019, she defeated Taya Valkyrie for the FSW Women’s Championship. She held the title until November 20, 2020, when she lost it to Mazzerati.

Serrano Signs with WWE

On January 20th 2021, WWE announced that Serrano was one of three female wrestlers including Elayna Black and Priscilla Kelly that the company had signed. She was assigned a new ring name, Zoey Stark. She debuted on the January 29th episode of 205 Live teaming with Marina Shafir in the opening round of the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They were eliminated by Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart.

Zoey Stark’s NXT Debut

Stark made her debut on the February 17th episode of NXT where she won her first singles match against Valentina Feroz. She then teamed with Io Shirai in a challenge at NXT: The Great American Bash where they defeated Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell to become the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. This marked Zoey Stark’s first title reign in her rookie year since joining WWE NXT.

Zoey Stark and Io Shirai lost the titles to Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) at Halloween Havoc in a triple-threat tag team Scareway To Hell Ladder Match, involving Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta. On the November 2nd episode of NXT, Stark was attacked backstage by Jayne and Dolin and sustained an injury. Stark suffered a legitimate torn MCL and meniscus at Halloween Havoc which required surgery.

Stark made her return from injury on the July 19, 2022, episode of NXT, in the 20-Woman Battle Royal. The match was for the Number One Contendership for the NXT Women’s Championship which she won. On the November 8th episode of NXT, Stark and Nikkita Lyons failed to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship from Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. After the match, Stark attacked Lyons, turning heel for the first time in her career. On January 28, 2023, Zoey Stark entered her first Royal Rumble match at #13 lasting over 26 minutes but scored no eliminations. She was eventually eliminated by Sonya Deville.

Zoey Stark Drafted To RAW

As part of the 2023 WWE Draft, Stark was drafted to WWE’s RAW brand. On the May 8th episode of RAW, Stark made her main roster debut. At her debut, she defeated Nikki Cross. Then, at Night of Champions, Stark assisted Trish Stratus in her match against Becky Lynch. Stark hit Lynch with her finisher, the Z-360. Stark’s interference allowed Stratus to defeat Lynch.

On the June 5th episode of RAW, Stark defeated Natalya to qualify for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. At the Money in the Bank in London, England, Stark worked with Stratus throughout the match to prevent Lynch from winning. Stratus, Stark and Lynch were defeated when Stark’s former tag team partner IYO SKY captured the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Stark’s Main Roster Debut

Zoey Stark wrestled her first match on the main roster on the August 28th episode of RAW. The match was a falls count anywhere match against Becky Lynch. Stark accidentally struck Stratus through a table, which allowed Lynch to put her through another table to win the match. At Payback, Stark aided Stratus in the latter’s steel cage match against Lynch in a failing effort. She then ended her alliance with Trish Stratus when Stratus slapped and berated her after the match. This prompted her to attack Stratus in retaliation, turning Stark face for the first time on the main roster.

On the September 4th episode of RAW, Zoey Stark lost to Shayna Baszler by technical submission after passing out to Baszler’s Kirifuda Clutch. The following week, Stark ran out to save Baszler when she was attacked by Chelsea Green and Piper Niven after Baszler’s match with Green. At Crown Jewel, Stark failed to win the Women’s World Championship from Rhea Ripley in a fatal-five way match also involving Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax and Baszler. On the following episode of RAW, Stark won a battle royal for a Women’s World Championship match against Ripley at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 25 but failed to win the title.
