Demi Bennett is a 25-year-old professional wrestler from Australia. She’s currently signed to WWE and performs on RAW under the ring name, Rhea Ripley.
Ripley started her wrestling career in 2013 working for Riot City Wrestling. She wrestled on the indie scene until 2017 when it was announced that she would participate in the 2017 Mae Young Classic under her new ring name, Rhea Ripley. In the first round, she defeated Miranda Salinas before losing in the second round to Dakota Kai.
Rhea Ripley’s NXT Television Debut
Rhea Ripley made her NXT television debut in a battle royal meant to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. In 2018, she turned heel and entered the Mae Young Classic defeating MJ Jenkins, Kacy Catanzaro, and Tegan Nox before losing to Io Shirai. Also that year, WWE held a tournament to crown the first ever NXT UK Women’s Champion. Ripley won the tournament after defeating Xia Brookside, Dakota Kai, and Toni Storm. She was the first ever NXT UK Women’s Champion. After 139 days, Ripley lost the title to Toni Storm.
In 2019, Ripley competed in the first ever Women’s WarGames match winning for her team.
At WrestleMania 36, Ripley lost the NXT Women’s Championship on night two to Charlotte Flair. The day after WrestleMania 36, Ripley announced she was taking a break and would be returning to Australia due to her visa issues. Ripley returned to NXT in May and at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Ripley and Charlotte Flair lost to Io Shirai in a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship.
At NXT The Great American Bash on July 1st, Ripley defeated Aliyah and Robert Stone in a 1-on-2 handicap match by submission.
Rhea Ripley’s RAW Debut
Rhea Ripley made her main roster debut on the March 22nd episode of Monday Night RAW. At her debut, she confronted Asuka after her match against Peyton Royce and challenged her to a match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37.
At Wrestlemania 37, Ripley defeated Asuka to win the RAW Women’s Championship. On the Monday Night RAW episode after WrestleMania, Ripley was scheduled to defend the title in a rematch against Asuka. The match ended in a no-contest after interference from Charlotte Flair, who attacked both Asuka and Ripley. At WrestleMania Backlash, Ripley successfully faced Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match.
A match between Ripley and Flair was then scheduled for Hell in a Cell. Flair defeated Ripley by disqualification at Hell in a Cell, allowing Ripley retained her title. Ripley dropped the title however to Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank in another rematch. Her reign lasted 98 days. She failed to regain the Raw Women’s title in a triple threat match against the champion Nikki A.S.H and Flair at SummerSlam.
Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. Team Up & Win Gold
In the following weeks after SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. allied and became a tag team. Together, they defeated Tamina and Natalya on the September 20 episode of Monday Night RAW. Their reign as tag team champions ended on November 22nd when they were defeated by the team of Carmella and Queen Zelina.SHOW LESS
