BRONSON REED

Jermaine Haley is a 34-year-old Australian professional wrestler. He is currently signed to WWE’s RAW brand and wrestles under the ring name, Bronson Reed.

Haley began his wrestling career in 2007 and worked for Australia’s independent circuit for 12 years. He was known as Jonah Rock or J-Rock. While wrestling in Australia, Haley earned numerous titles. Jermaine Haley is a former three-time Wrestle Rampage Australian National Champion. Haley also won the Explosive Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship and the Pacific Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. While wrestling for Melbourne City Wrestling, he was the MCW Heavyweight Champion and one half of the MCW Tag Team Champions.

Haley also worked for Japan’s Pro Wrestling NOAH promotion, the British promotions Revolution Pro Wrestling and PROGRESS Wrestling, the German promotion Westside Xtreme Wrestling and the American independent promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Haley’s WWE NXT Debut

In January 2019, Haley, along with 11 other recruits, was signed to WWE’s NXT brand. Two months later, he made his debut on a NXT live event wrestling where he was defeated by Riddick Moss. In June, Haley’s ring name was changed to Bronson Reed.

During a June 7th NXT live event, Reed had his first title shot where he teamed with fellow Australian, Brendan Vink, to challenge the reigning champions, the Street Profits, for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Reed and Vink were unsuccessful.

On July 17, 2019, Bronson Reed made his televised in-ring debut at the NXT Breakout Tournament. In the first round, he defeated Dexter Lumis but he was defeated in the semi-finals by Cameron Grimes. The following month on August 21st, Reed returned to in-ring action in a losing match against Shane Thorne.

On August 24 2019, Reed received his second title opportunity for the NXT Championship but lost to Adam Cole, the reigning NXT Champion. In February 2020, Reed was attacked by the Undisputed Era for helping defend KUSHIDA. In the following weeks, Reed was defeated in various matches to Roderick Strong, Cameron Grimes and Karrion Kross.

On the July 22nd episode of NXT, Reed defeated Johnny Gargano and Roderick Strong to qualify for a spot in a ladder match for the vacated NXT North American Championship at NXT: Takeover 30. At the event, Reed had an impressive showing but failed to win the title.

Bronson Reed Wins NXT North American Championship

On May 18th, 2021, Bronson Reed faced Johnny Gargano on NXT and was victorious in an epic Steel Cage Match for the NXT North American Championship title.

Bronson Reed lost the NXT North American Championship on June 29th, 2021, to Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. On the July 27th episode of NXT, Reed was defeated by Adam Cole in what would be his final WWE match in this stint. On August 6, Haley was released from his WWE contract.

Haley Joins New Japan Pro Wrestling

Haley made his New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) debut at Battle in the Valley on November 13th 2021 using the ring name, Jonah. After his debut, Jonah would go on a short-lived winning streak defeating Lucas Riley in his NJPW in-ring debut and then a month later defeating David Finlay. On January 15, 2022, Jonah suffered his first loss in a tag team match against FinJuice as he teamed with Bad Dude Tito. On March 6th, Shane Haste, assisted Jonah and Tito, in defeating FinJuice and reformed The Mighty Don’t Kneel as a stable.

Jonah made his Impact Wrestling debut at Turning Point on November 20, 2021, attacking Josh Alexander and leaving him bloodied. They had a match at Hard To Kill, where Alexander defeated him. After his loss to Alexander, Jonah embarked on a winning streak defeating Crazzy Steve, Black Taurus, Raj Singh, and Honor No More’s PCO. His winning streak came to an end at Rebellion, after being defeated by Tomohiro Ishii. His final match was a loss to PCO in a Monster’s Ball match. On May 6, Jonah announced his departure from the company

Bronson Reed Returns to WWE

On the December 19, 2022, episode of RAW, Haley made his surprise return to WWE under his former ring name Bronson Reed. Haley’s return was a surprise and he helped The Miz defeat Dexter Lumis in a ladder match.

On the January 30, 2023 episode of RAW, Reed defeated Dolph Ziggler to qualify for the Elimination Chamber for the United States Championship. At Elimination Chamber on February 18th, Reed failed to win the title at the pay-per-view.
