ALBA FYRE

Kayleigh Rae is a 31-year-old Scottish professional wrestler from Scotland. She’s currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment and performs on RAW. Her ring name is Alba Fyre.

Kayleigh Rae’s made her professional wrestling debut in May 2009 losing a Battlezone Rumble for SWA Battlezone that would determine the number one contender for the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship.

Kayleigh Rae’s Early Wrestling Career

Rae’s first singles match was on March 26, 2010, where she lost to Vyper. She then began working the independent circuit winning the SWE Speed King Championship, SWE Queen of Southside Championship and the WCPW Women’s Championship.

Rae made her Insane Championship Wrestling debut on February 6, 2011, defeating Carmel. She has wrestled for ICW ever since and has won the ICW Women’s Championship title three times as well as the Fierce Females/Scottish Women’s Championship once.

Rae also wrestled for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and World of Sport Wrestling before signing with the WWE in 2019. She did wrestle for WWE in one match against Nia Jax in 2015 and two years later, she competed in the 2017 Mae Young Classic tournament.

Kayleigh Rae’s WWE NXT UK Debut

Kay Lee Ray made her in-ring debut with WWE NXT UK in March 2019 in a winning effort against Candy Floss. In June, Ray won a battle royal to earn the opportunity to face the NXT UK Women’s Champion, Toni Storm. At NXT TakeOver: Cardiff, Ray defeated Storm to win the NXT UK Women’s Championship and became the first British-born wrestler to hold the title.

On the September 24th episode of NXT UK, Ray retained her title against Piper Niven. Ray and Niven’s feud continued into November after Ray insulted Niven after Niven lost to Ray. Niven came out and attacked Ray in the ring and backstage. On November 19 2020, Ray was successful again in defending her title against Niven in a Falls Count Anywhere Match when Jinny interfered as a result of Niven disrespecting her two weeks prior.

In the following weeks, Ray retained her title in a championship match against Jinny and another title match against Meiko Satomura. On the June 10th 2021 episode of NXT UK, Kay Lee Ray lost the title to Meiko Satomura, ending her record reign at 649 days.

Kay Lee Ray Debuts on NXT

In August 2021, Kay Lee Ray made her debut appearance at NXT Takeover 36 at the end of the NXT Women’s Championship match between Raquel González and Dakota Kai. On the November 23rd episode of NXT, Ray distracted Mandy Rose during her match against Cora Jade. As a result, this made Rose lose the match. Later that night, she joined Io Shirai’s team at NXT WarGames, turning face for the first time in her career.

On the February 8th 2022 episode of NXT, Ray fought Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship, but lost.

Ray Becomes Alba Fyre

Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai won the 2022 Women’s Dusty Cup. At Stand & Deliver, Ray failed to win the NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal-four way involving Shirai, Cora Jade and champion Mandy Rose. On the April 26 episode of NXT, Ray revealed her new ring name Alba Fyre.

On the May 10th episode of NXT, Fyre defeated Amari Miller in her first match since her name change. After defeating Tatum Paxley on the June 7th episode of NXT, Fyre was attacked by Lash Legend, which ignited a feud between the two. Fyre defeated Legend on the June 21st episode of NXT by disqualification (after Legend used Fyre’s own bat) and on the August 2nd episode.

At Halloween Havoc, Alba Fyre unsuccessfully challenged Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship. On the November 15th episode of NXT, she lost her championship rematch against Rose in a Last Woman Standing match when a returning Isla Dawn interfered. This led to a match between Fyre and Dawn at NXT Deadline on December 10th where Dawn was victorious. She defeated Dawn in an Extreme Resolution match on the January 3rd 2023 episode of NXT. Three weeks later, Alba Fyre failed to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. She turned heel again and joined forces with Dawn on the January 31st episode of NXT.

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn Win Gold

 On the November 15th episode of NXT, Fyre lost her championship rematch against Rose in a Last Woman Standing match when Isla Dawn interfered. This led to a match between Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn at NXT Deadline. Fyre lost to Isla Dawn. Fyre then defeated Dawn in an Extreme Resolution match on the January 3rd 2023 episode of NXT. She then failed to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship three weeks later. Fyre turned heel again and joined forces with Isla Dawn on the January 31st episode of NXT.

At Stand & Deliver on April 1st, Fyre and Dawn defeated Fallon Henley and Kiana James to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
