Arriola performs under the ring name Tony D’Angelo. He is also one half of the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside his partner, Stacks.

D’Angelo’s NXT Debut

D’Angelo made his NXT debut on the October 5th, 2021 episode of NXT with the heel gimmick of an Italian-American mobster. He defeated Malik Blade at his debut. A few months later, at NXT WarGames on December 5th, D’Angelo teamed with Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller and defeated Team Black & Gold (Johnny Gargano, LA Knight, Pete Dunne and Tommaso Ciampa).

After several wins against competitors like Dexter Lumis and Andre Chase, D’Angelo suffered his first loss to Pete Dunne. He then brutally attacked Dunne with a crowbar. As a result, a feud ensued with D’Angelo defeating Dunne in a Crowbar On a Pole match at the January 11, 2022 episode of NXT 2.0. On the January 25th episode of NXT 2.0, D’Angelo lost to Cameron Grimes due to interference from Dunne. On the February 15th episode of NXT Vengeance Day, D’Angelo lost to Dunne in a Weaponized Steel Cage match. At NXT Stand & Deliver, D’Angelo pinned Tommaso Ciampa. After his victory over Ciampa, D’Angelo began calling himself “The Don of NXT”.

D’Angelo Begins Feuding with Legado del Fantasma

On June 4, at NXT In Your House, D’Angelo and his henchmen Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan defeated Legado del Fantasma. As part the stipulation, the Legado del Fantasma stable had to join the D’Angelo Family. On the June 21st episode of NXT 2.0, D’Angelo lost to Carmelo Hayes after Santos Escobar interfered. On the August 2nd episode of NXT, D’Angelo and Lorenzo faced The Creed Brothers for the NXT Tag Team Championship but lost due to Escobar interfering again. D’Angelo defeated Escobar in a Street Fight match later that month. As a result, Legado del Fantasma had to remain linked to the D’Angelo Family, while Escobar had to leave NXT (kayfabe).

D’Angelo faced Wes Lee on NXT’s September 27th episode in a ladder match in hopes of qualifying for the vacant NXT North American Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc. Tony lost to Wes Lee. On the December 27 episode of NXT, D’Angelo then faced Lee for the NXT North American Championship but, due to interference from Dijak, he lost the match.

D’Angelo Wins Gold

On January 10, 2023, D’Angelo turned face and challenged Dijak to a match at NXT: New Year’s Evil. D’Angelo lost to Dijak. At NXT Stand & Deliver, D’Angelo and Stacks wrestled in a triple threat match but failed to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. The D’Angelo Family had a brief feud with Pretty Deadly where they lost on the April 4 episode of NXT. Three weeks later, they defeated Pretty Deadly at NXT Spring Breakin’ in a trunk match. At NXT: The Great American Bash, D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defeated Gallus to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. This marked the first championship in Tony D’Angelo’s wrestling career.

At Halloween Havoc Night 1, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks dropped the NXT Tag Team Championship titles to Andre Chase and Duke Hudson. Their reign lasted 86 days. In a rematch on the November 14, 2023 edition of NXT, D’Angelo and Stacks defeated Andre Chase and Duke Hudson to become two-time NXT Tag Team Champions.
