ROXANNE PEREZ
Carla Gonzalez is a 22-year-old professional wrestler from Laredo, Texas. Gonzalez is currently signed with WWE and performs on the company’s NXT brand under the ring name, Roxanne Perez. She is also the current NXT Women’s Champion.
Carla Gonzalez began her wrestling training at just 13 years old and later trained under Booker T when she was 16. In 2018, she made her professional wrestling debut under the ring name, Rok-C with Booker T’s promotion, Reality of Wrestling. Rok-C spent the majority of her early years wrestling for promotions across her home state of Texas. Most notably, she wrestled for ROW where she won the women’s title, the ROW Diamonds Division Championship.
Gonzalez Joins Ring of Honor
In April 2021, Gonzalez began working for Ring of Honor under her Rok-C ring name. At her debut, she teamed with Max the Impaler in a time limit draw against Laynie Luck and Hyan. She then competed in the ROH Women’s World Championship tournament. At the tournament she defeated Angelina Love, Sumie Sakai and Quinn McKay.
In the finals at Death Before Dishonor XVIII, she defeated Miranda Alize to become the inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion. This win also made her the youngest female champion in company history at just 19. Her first title defense came on the November 26 episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling, where she defeated Gia Scott. On October 27, 2021, Rok-C along with all other ROH personnel were released from their contracts as the company would go on hiatus after December’s Final Battle.
At Final Battle, Rok-C successfully retained her championship against Willow Nightengale in what was ROH’s last pay-per-view event before going on hiatus. After the match, she was confronted by former Impact Knockouts Champion and reigning AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo. Deonna proposed a winner take all match at a future Impact Wrestling event. The match took place on the January 13 episode of Impact!, where she lost the ROH Women’s World Championship against Purrazzo, (the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion was also on the line).
Gonzalez Signs with WWE
In March 2022, Gonzalez signed a contract with WWE’s developmental brand, NXT. On her Twitter page, she confirmed in April that she would be performing under the new ring name Roxanne Perez.
