OBA FEMI
Isaac Odugbesan is a 26-year-old Nigerian professional wrestler signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. He performs on the company’s NXT brand under the ring name, Oba Femi, and he is the current NXT North American Champion.
On December 8th 2021, Odugbesan signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Odugbesan signed with WWE as part of its new Next in Line program meant to develop college athletes into potential WWE wrestlers. He made in his in-ring debut under the ring name, Oba Femi, on the November 18th 2022 episode of NXT Level Up. He wrestled Dante Chen in his debut match and was defeated.
Oba Femi’s NXT Debut
Oba Femi made his formal NXT debut in April 2023 at Spring Breakin’ where he defeated Oro Mensah. At the 2023 Men’s NXT Breakout Tournament in December 2023, he defeated Myles Borne in the first round. In the semifinals, he also defeated Tavion Heights. On January 2, 2024, at NXT: New Year’s Evil, he defeat4ed Riley Osborne in the finals to win the tournament. The following week, Femi cashed in his Breakout Tournament contracted and defeated Dragon to win the NXT North American Championship.
On February 4 at NXT: Vengeance Day, Femi successfully defended his title in his first title defense against Lee. In Femi’s first NXT Stand & Deliver event on April 6, he successfully defended his title against Dijak and Josh Briggs in a triple threat match. At Battleground, Femi defended his title again in a triple threat match against Wes Lee and Joe Coffey.
