ANDRE CHASE

Chance Barrow is a 35-year-old professional wrestler from Draper, North Carolina. He is currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment and he performs on the company’s NXT brand. Barrow’s ring name is Andre Chase.

Early Wrestling Career

Competing under the ring name Harlem Bravado, Barrow initiated his professional wrestling journey in North Carolina with World Class Extreme Wrestling in 2007. He teamed up with his real-life brother, Houston, who wrestled as Lancelot Bravado, and together they formed the duo known as The Bravado Brothers.

In September 2009, The Bravado Brothers made their debut in Ring of Honor, participating in several dark matches over the following months. Their inaugural match on ROH’s main roster occurred during the 8th Anniversary show, where they faced off against The Kings of Wrestling and were defeated. Subsequently, The Bravado Brothers entered the Tag Wars 2010 tournament, advancing to the semi-finals before being eliminated by the Dark City Fight Club.

The Bravado Brothers Winning Streak

After a few losses to teams like Future Shock and Grizzly Redwood, The Bravado Brothers went on a winning streak in January 2011. This streak lasted until they were defeated by Future Shock at Supercard of Honor VI on May 21. At Tag Team Turmoil 2011, the Bravados entered the tournament to determine the next challengers to the ROH World Tag Team Championship. They defeated the Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe), but lost to Future Shock in the final.

The Bravado Brothers appeared on their first ROH pay-per-view, Death Before Dishonor IX. They were part of a three-way elimination match against The Young Bucks and Future Shock. The Bravados were the first team eliminated. In November, they lost to the Briscoe Brothers in a qualifying match for the Survival of the Fittest tournament. At the Final Battle 2011 pay-per-view, the Bravado Brothers were part of a tag team gauntlet match to determine the number one contenders to the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately, they were the first team eliminated by Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander.

Independent Wrestling Promotions

Following a tour of Japan, the Bravado Brothers returned to ROH at Unity in April 2012. They defeated The Young Bucks. The following month, the pair challenged Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. They won the match by disqualification, and so did not win the championship. They competed only sporadically for ROH throughout mid-2012. Their last appearance with Ring of Honor was in a losing match to Coleman and Alexander at Glory By Honor XI.

From 2011 to 2017, the Bravado Brothers wrestled for various independent promotions including Chikara, EVOLVE, Pro Wrestling Noah, Full Impact Pro, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Barrow Signs with WWE

In 2021, Chance Barrow signed with WWE and was rebranded under the ring name, Andre Chase. He made his WWE debut during the July 2nd episode of 205 Live. As well, Chase won a NXT Breakout Tournament Qualifier match defeating Guru Raaj. From there, Andre Chase began recurring appearances in singles matches on 205 Live.

Chase made his televised debut on the July 20th episode of NXT, where he was eliminated in the first round of the NXT Breakout Tournament by Odyssey Jones. He returned to NXT television in September 2021 and wrestled regularly in the following months.

Chase University

Chase’s storyline saw him become the founder of Chase University (Chase U), with multiple vignettes of his classes being shown. With his student body motivating him from the stands, Chase suffered losses to Bron Breakker, Xyon Quinn, Cameron Grimes, and Tony D’Angelo. On the December 28, 2021 episode of NXT, Chase was defeated by Harland. But Bodhi Hayward, a student of Chase U, attempted to save Andre Chase from Harland. However, Harland carried away Hayward. Hayward was soon spared by Harland and Joe Gacy, with Andre Chase praising his student’s bravery. The pair then competed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament (2022). Chase and Hayward were eliminated in the first round by the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson).
