TOMMASO CIAMPA LEAVES WWE, JOINS AEW
The WWE Universe was shocked last week to learn that Tommaso Ciampa would be leaving WWE. On his Instagram, Ciampa posted an emotional farewell last week:
Tonight, just days after his contract ended with WWE, Ciampa made his in-ring return by debuting for WWE’s rival, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Ciampa answered Mark Briscoe’s open challenge for a match this Saturday, January 31, 2026, at AEW Dynamite.
Ciampa first joined WWE in 2007 but returned in 2015 and officially signed in 2016 alongside Johnny Gargano in NXT. During his NXT career, he won the NXT Tag Team Championship once and the NXT Championship twice. His final WWE match aired on the December 19, 2025 episode of SmackDown, where he and Gargano were defeated by Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov.
