ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL RETURNS

On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be held. The André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is an annual match held during WrestleMania Weekend by WWE, the American professional wrestling promotion. The winner is awarded the André the Giant Memorial Trophy. This event debuted at WrestleMania XXX in 2014, with Cesaro emerging as the first winner. Most recently, Bronson Reed claimed victory in the 2024 edition of the match leading into WrestleMania XL.

The match honors WWE legend André the Giant, the first-ever inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. Standing over seven feet tall and weighing more than 500 pounds, André was famously dubbed “The King of the Battle Royal” for his dominance in such matches. A short-lived women’s version of the match, the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, took place in 2018 and 2019.
