WWE SUMMERSLAM 2024 MATCH CARD

Damian Priest (c) vs. Gunther. Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship

WWE has done a great job making fans care about this story. Around this time last month, fans had almost no interest in Gunther vs Priest, but the storyline they’ve built up has really made Priest a credible champion so it wouldn’t be shocking if he actually did retain here. However so soon after Gunther lost at Mania would make the Austrian seem weak in my opinion. Plus with Bash at Berlin being in a few weeks it seems like they want Gunther walking in as champion. We believe Gunther is winning his first world title tonight.

OUR PREDICTION: GUNTHER

Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship

Originally it seemed they were planning the Tiffany Stratton cash-in for tonight, however with her recently getting a new custom briefcase, it seems odd that they would want her to cash in only one night after getting it. Bayley’s title reign has been good, but it feels like we’ve gotten all we can get out of it. Nia Jax has genuinely been on a roll lately, and she should win the title here. The storytelling with her and Tiffany will be great. 

OUR PREDICTION: NIA JAX

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley. Singles match for the Women’s World Championship

This storyline is one of the best going into this years event and even though Rhea should win the title in the long run, Liv has to retain here. Dominik should turn on Rhea Ripley and set up a Women’s Hell in a Cell match for Bad Blood. Maybe Priest and Rhea vs Morgan and Dom as Bash at Berlin would be fun as well. All we can say though is that Liv has to retain tonight or this rivalry is done. 

OUR PREDICTION: LIV MORGAN

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa. Bloodline Rules match for the Undisputed WWE Championship

This match being changed to Bloodline Rules changes it all, we could see three potential returns in this match Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, and of course Roman Reigns. It will be a very interesting sight to see Roman helping Cody fend off Solo and his goons. Also, expect a run-in from DIY helping Cody after SmackDown last night. Solo Sikoa will not be winning the world title here, it’s definitely in his future, but not in this storyline. Can’t wait for Roman Reigns to return. 

OUR PREDICTION: CODY RHODES

Logan Paul (c) vs. LA Knight. Singles match for the WWE United States Championship

When your own hometown hates you and is cheering your opponent over you it’s definitely time to lose the title. Logan Paul has only defended the title twice since last November, and LA Knight is the perfect babyface champion to take the title from him. Imagine the matches with Hayes and Andrade on SmackDown he could have. The mid-card on SmackDown is too strong to have an absent champion. LA Knight deserves the win here, it’s finally time. 

OUR PREDICTION: LA KNIGHT

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bron Breakker. Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

This should’ve been a Triple Threat with Dragunov as well in my opinion, but this should still be an awesome match. Bron Breakker definitely has to win here though, he can’t lose to Sami Zayn like this twice, it will hurt his momentum. Obviously they want Sami to have a decently long run with the title because he beat the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, but if you don’t want Sami to lose the title yet, have him beat someone else until you’re ready to have Bron win the title. Bron Breakker has to win.

OUR PREDICTION: BRON BREAKKER

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre. Singles match

The best storyline going into SummerSlam could also be the match that steals the show. Hopefully, Punk doesn’t get injured again. Seth Rollins being the referee adds a lot of drama to the match as we have no idea how he’s going to act, but we all know it will be chaotic and fun. Drew McIntyre should win here though, if Punk wins much like the Liv and Rhea storyline, it’ll just end after this, McIntyre needs to win and we need to continue this feud. Perhaps a fatal four way with these three and Gunther at Bash at Berlin for the title? McIntyre is winning here with accidental help from Rollins. As an added prediction, Punk will attack Rollins after the match.
