WWE MONEY IN THE BANK 2024 RECAP & REVIEW
MONEY IN THE BANK 2024 MATCH CARD
Drew McIntyre defeated Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, Jey Uso, and LA Knight. Money in the Bank ladder match for a men’s championship match contract
WINNER: DREW MCINTYRE
OUR PREDICTION: CHAD GABLE
RATING: 8/10
This match was awesome, had tons of high spots, and proved that Andrade and Carmelo Hayes could hang with the main eventers of the division. LA Knight and Jey Uso had their Yeet and Yeah spot at the top of the ladder, and LA Knight took a nasty suplex from Gable through a ladder onto the outside. In the end Drew McIntyre grabbed the contract to become the new Mr. Money in the Bank. This was an awesome way to start off the show and even if the winner should have been different, the match itself was great.
Sami Zayn (c) defeated Bron Breakker. Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
WINNER: SAMI ZAYN
OUR PREDICTION: BRON BREAKKER
RATING: 7/10
Bron Breakker should’ve won the title here, however, it also makes sense for Sami to retain in Canada. Bron Breakker is also clearly not done his chase for the title so this outcome isn’t too bad in retrospect. The match itself was really good. Fast paced, and Bron Breakker proved that he could hang with Zayn in the ring. Sami Zayn won will one Helluva Kick which was an odd finish, but at least we got one finisher finishing a match for once. Bron Breakker will take the title in the future.
Damian Priest (c) defeated Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Drew McIntyre. Triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship
WINNER: DAMIAN PRIEST
OUR PREDICTION: SETH ROLLINS
RATING: 8/10
This match was an all timer at first. Seth and Priest have always had good chemistry and Priest has been a really good champion so far. He kept his word and the Judgment Day didn’t get involved in the match. Halfway through the match Seth Rollins pinned Priest before the ref stopped counting out of nowhere which was a crazy botch. Rollins should’ve won there technically. The McIntyre’s music hits and he cashes in as the match continues as a Triple Threat. The in ring work was still good but the ref botch made it all feel slightly off. CM Punk came out to cost McIntyre the title again and Priest retains thanks to Punk. Rollins was upset with Punk after the match as well since he can no longer challenge for the title as long as Priest is champion. Great stuff, with great storytelling.
Tiffany Stratton defeated Chelsea Green, Iyo Sky, Lyra Valkyria, Naomi, and Zoey Stark. Money in the Bank ladder match for a women’s championship match contract
WINNER: TIFFANY STRATTON
OUR PREDICTION: CHELSEA GREEN
RATING: 10/10
This was one of the best Money in the Bank ladder matches ever. Chelsea Green was so over in this match and honestly it could be argued she should have won, but who’s going to argue with Tiffany Stratton winning the briefcase? Props to Naomi, Iyo Sky, and Zoey Stark for all taking really crazy bumps throughout, and props to Chelsea for that crazy table bump at the end. Amazing stuff, and the ladies went out there and killed it.
The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga) (with Tonga Loa) defeated Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton. Six-man tag team match
WINNER: THE BLOODLINE
OUR PREDICTION: THE BLOODLINE
RATING: 8/10
This match was really fun. Everyone got time to shine, even Tonga Loa which he messed up by hitting his teammate in the head and botching a low blow. Jacob Fatu looked like an absolute beast, and the new Bloodline is finally getting over as Solo Sikoa pinned Cody Rhodes to end the match only becoming the fourth person to do so since Cody’s return in 2022. This match was awesome, and Solo going over was the right choice here.
