WWE ANNOUNCES SUMMERSLAM 2022 MATCHES

SummerSlam is only a few weeks away and WWE has already announced a few matches for the pay-per-view. Ronda Rousey will challenge reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan in a rematch for the title. Morgan defeated Rousey on July 2nd’s Money in the Bank when she cashed in her contract to challenge Rousey and won. Rousey had just defended the Women’s SmackDown Championship successfully against Natalya when Liv Morgan cashed in her MITB briefcase won hours earlier. It should be interesting to see if Liv Morgan can retain her title against a full strength Rousey!

WWE also announced that The Usos will defend their Undisputed Tag Team Championship against The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) again. After a controversial finish to their recent title matchup against The Street Profits at WWE Money in the Bank, however, their status as “Undisputed” has now come into question. Although Jimmy & Jey also officially retained the tag team gold against explosive former titleholders Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins at the WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, a replay showed that Ford’s shoulder was clearly off the canvas before the three-count.

SummerSlam takes streams live on Saturday July 30 on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally.
