SAMOA JOE RETURNS TO WWE’S NXT BRAND

Samoa Joe returned to WWE NXT last night surprising the WWE Universe. Joe made a surprise appearance interrupting NXT Champion Karrion Kross and William Regal. Kross had been berating William Regal saying that he had lost control of NXT. When Joe made his return, he confronted Karrion Kross and Regal stated that he wanted Samoa Joe to take over for him as general manager, but Joe declined the offer. Instead, Samoa Joe stated he wanted to work alongside Regal and was willing to offer his services in a different way: as an assistant.

Regal accepted the idea but set forth two conditions: Joe won’t be able to compete in NXT and that Joe could not put his hands on anyone – unless provoked. Joe accepted the conditions. Fans didn’t have to wait long to see how hands-on Joe would be in this new capacity. With a fight breaking out backstage between Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole, Joe locked the Coquina Clutch on Cole, putting him to sleep.
