Andrade Denied Release from WWE
Earlier this week WWE Superstar Andrade reportedly asked to be released from the WWE but was denied. The Mexican professional wrestler has not appeared on WWE TV since he was defeated by Angel Garza five months ago. Andrade was not drafted in the October 2020 WWE draft.
Andrade, whose real name is Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, has been wrestling since he was just 14 years old and is a third generation wrestler. He signed with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (“World Wrestling Council” CMLL) in 2007. Eight years later, Oropeza signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and was assigned to the company’s NXT brand. On November 18’s Wargames, he defeated Drew McIntyre to become the new NXT Champion. The following year, he was drafted to the main roster. In 2019, he defeated Rey Mysterio to win the United States Championship for the first time.
