CEDRIC ALEXANDER

In June 2019, Cedric Alexander won the 24/7 Championship from R-Truth before immediately losing it against EC3. In August 2019, he earned himself a title shot for the United States Championship after pinning A.J. Styles in a 10 man tag team match. He was defeated by Styles on the Kickoff show of Clash of Champions.

For the last part of 2019 and into early 2020, Cedric Alexander was off television and appeared on Main Event prior to forming a tag team with Ricochet.

Cedric Alexander Joins The Hurt Business

On the April 6, 2020 episode of RAW, Cedric Alexander formed a tag team with Ricochet and defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. After injuring Apollo Crews, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin began feuding with The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin) for several weeks.

In early July, Alexander and Ricochet lost to MVP and Bobby Lashley. Following the match, MVP approached Alexander and tried to convince him to join his group rather just be Ricochet’s “side kick.”

On the August 13th episode of RAW, Alexander pinned Benjamin to win the 24/7 title for a second time only to lose it back to Benjamin later that night. A few weeks later, he attacked his tag team partners Ricochet and Apollo Crews during a six-man tag team match against The Hurt Business. Alexander joined The Hurt Business and turned heel for the first time in his WWE career.

WWE RAW Tag Team Titles

Alexander began teaming with Shelton Benjamin as they feuded with The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. At TLC (Tables, Ladders, Chairs) on December 20, 2020, Alexander and Benjamin defeated The New Day to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship.

Alexander and Benjamin held onto the RAW Tag Team Championship until March 15, 2021 when they were defeated on Monday Night RAW by The New Day. After several losses to The Viking Raiders, Riddle and Randy Orton and the Lucha House Party, Alexander and Shelton Benjamin disbanded as a tag team.

On the September 27 episode of Monday Night RAW, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin helped Bobby Lashley fight off The New Day and in the process, reuniting The Hurt Business. For the third time, Alexander won the 24/7 title when he defeated Reggie on the November 22 episode of RAW. He lost the title to Dana Brooke moments later.

Cedric Alexander’s Feuds

In January 2022, after not being seen together, Benjamin and Alexander approached Lashley under the assumption they were still a team, only to be dismissed. This would cause the pair to launch a sneak attack that evening, but they were easily dealt with. After his tag team partner, Shelton Benjamin was injured, Alexander was involved in segments where he tried to get in on MVP and Omos’ good side during their feud with Bobby Lashley. At Hell in a Cell, Alexander distracted MVP and Omos during their 2-on-1 Handicap Match which allowed Lashley to pick up the victory. Later on, Lashley confronted Alexander backstage, questioning his motive behind the involvement. On August 8, 2022, Alexander defeated Benjamin in the Main Event tapings, effectively signaling the end of The Hurt Business.

On the January 9, 2023 episode of RAW, Alexander and Benjamin reunited to take part in a Tag Team Turmoil match. Earlier during the show, Lashley and MVP teased an alliance, with MVP crediting himself for reuniting Benjamin and Alexander, and getting Lashley reinstated on Raw after being suspended. On the February 6th edition of RAW, Alexander and Benjamin defeated Alpha Academy with MVP in their corner further hinting at a possible reunion.

Following Benjamin’s release, Alexander returned to singles competition and was quietly moved to the SmackDown brand in November. On the December 8th episode of SmackDown, Alexander teamed up with Ashante “Thee” Adonis in a dark match accompanied by B-Fab. Together they scored a victory over Pretty Deadly, with Adonis picking up the win. On the February 9th, 2024 episode of SmackDown, Alexander and Adonis appeared in a promo together, officially cementing their status as a tag team
