GIOVANNI VINCI

Fabian Aichner is a 32-year-old professional wrestler from Italy. Aichner is signed with World Wrestling Entertainment and performs on Monday Night RAW under the ring name, Giovanni Vinci. He is also part of the stable, Imperium.

Aichner made his professional wrestling debut in December 2011 for New European Championship Wrestling.  In 2012, Fabian competed in the finals of the New European World (NEW) Heavyweight Championship tournament but ultimately did not win the tournament nor the championship. In 2013, Fabian competed in and reached the finals of the NEW tournament again. Aichner did not win the tournament that year or the tournament in 2014. He did win the King of the North tournament in 2014 after defeating Chaos in the finals.

Fabian Aichner Wrestles On The Independent Circuit

Aichner wrestled on the independent scene until 2016 when he was announced to be the Italian representative in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament to crown the first ever WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He was eliminated in the first round by Jack Gallagher.

Upon returning to the independent scene after the Cruiserweight Classic, Fabian won the NEW World Tag Team Title Tournament with his partner, Mexx.

Fabian Aichner’s WWE Contract & Debut

In June 2017, Fabian Aichner signed a contract with the WWE. He made his return to NXT at a live event in a losing effort against Adrian Jaoude. In his first televised match with NXT, he lost to Kassius Ohno.

Aichner, while under contract with WWE, wrestled at Evolve 115 (Evolve has a partnership with WWE) winning the Evolve Championship from Shane Strickland. He defended the title at Evolve 116 but lost it at Evolve 117 to Austin Theory.

He is currently in a stable on NXT UK known as Imperium alongside Walter, Alexander Wolfe, and Marcel Barthel. On May 13, 2020, Barthel and Aichner defeated Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher (a substitute for Pete Dunne) and won the NXT Tag Team Championship. On August 20, Barthel and Aichner lost the NXT Tag Team Championship titles to Breezango on an episode of NXT.

Imperium’s Second Tag Team Championship Win

At NXT 2.0’s Halloween Havoc in October 2021, Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner defeated MSK in a Lumberjack O’Lantern Match to win the NXT Tag Team Championships for a second time. They successfully defended their titles on the December 5th WarGames show against Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner.

At NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, Imperium lost the NXT Tag Team titles to MSK in a triple threat match. Their reign lasted 158 days.  Aichner’s final appearance as a member of Imperium was on the April 5 episode of NXT. Barthel and Aichner faced the Creed Brothers and were defeated. Aichner walked out on Barthel, signaling the break up of the tag team. This was later proven true, as Imperium would debut on SmackDown without Aichner.

Fabian Aichner’s New Ring Name & Main Roster

On the May 24 episode of NXT, vignettes aired promoting the debut of Aichner repackaged as Giovanni Vinci. He re-debuted on June 14 episode of NXT defeating Guru Raaj.

On September 3rd, at Clash at the Castle 2022, Vinci appeared alongside Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser, with Kaiser announcing the reformation of Imperium. Vinci and his Imperium teammates Gunther and Kaiser were drafted to RAW in the 2023 WWE Draft.
