Jennifer Michell Cantú Iglesias is a 26-year-old Mexican professional wrestler currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She performs on WWE’s NXT brand under the ring name, Yulisa León.
Iglesias is a second generation wrestler, her father wrestled in Mexico under the ring name, Bronco. She is the first female Mexican professional wrestler to be signed to a contract by WWE. Jennifer is a three-time World Powerlifting Gold medalist. She began training for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo but had to drop out of the training process. Iglesias had to drop out because she was required to gain an additional 15 lb. An unspecified health issue prevented Iglesias from reaching the weight requirement.
Yulisa León’s Professional Wrestling Career
Iglesias began training for a pro wrestling career in 2019. She trained at Arena Monterrey with Mexican wrestling legend and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) ring announcer, Tony Salazar. In December 2019, she participated in the tryout at the WWE Performance Center. In February 2021, WWE reported that Iglesias had signed a developmental contract with the company.
On October 22nd 2021, Iglesias debuted on 205 Live under the ring name, Yulisa León. At her debut, she teamed with Katrina Cortez in a tag match against Amari Miller & Valentina Feroz.
Yulisa León wrestled her first singles match on the November 23rd episode of NXT losing to Ivy Nile. She wrestled her second singles match on the January 18, 2022 episode of NXT against Dakota Kai but was defeated again.
