Allyssa Lyn “Lacey” Lane is a 33-year-old American professional wrestler from Winter Park, Florida. Lane is currently signed with the WWE NXT brand and her ring name is Kayden Carter.

Lane started training for a wrestling career in 2016 in the Team 3D Academy. She then wrestled regularly for a number of different Florida-based independent promotions. She had her first public match against Trish Adora for the Go Wrestle promotion which she won.

Kayden Carter’s WWE Tryout

The following year, Lane had a tryout at the WWE Performance Center in February and was offered a contract. WWE rescinded the contract though after a physical examination revealed Lane had arthritis in her knee. As a result, she spent several months rehabbing her knee.

In November 2017, Lane began wrestling for The Crash Lucha Libre in Mexico. In January 2018, she defeated Keyra for the promotion’s Women’s Championship title. She held the title for 175 days before losing it to Tessa Blanchard in a triple threat match that also included Santana Garrett on July 14, 2018.

Kayden Carter’s WWE Contract

In July 2018, Lane signed with the WWE after passing a second physical. She competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic and defeated Vanessa Kraven in the first round. She then defeated Taynara Conti in the second round but lost in the quarter finals to Meiko Satomura.

In September 2019, Lane’s ring name was changed to Kayden Carter and she made her NXT television debut in January 2020. At her debut, she defeated Chelsea Green. In a rematch in February, Kayden lost to Green.

Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro took part in the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. They defeated Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, they lost to Dakota Kai and Raquel González. They would then feud with Xia Li after constantly being attacked by her throughout the following weeks.

On the March 10th episode of NXT, Carter lost to Li by disqualification after Catanzaro hit the latter with a crutch. Catanzaro and Carter lost to Li in a handicap match on the March 31 episode of NXT, with the former taking the pin after a cyclone kick. Catanzaro and Carter announced that they decided to leave Li alone on the May 4th episode of NXT.

On the July 27th episode of NXT, they defeated Franky Monet and Jessi Kamea. After defeating Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, Carter and Catanzaro announced they would pursue the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. They had their chance at the end of August, losing to champions Io Shirai and Zoey Stark.
