JOHN MORRISON

John Randall Hennigan is a 40-year-old professional wrestler from Los Angeles, California, United States. He is currently signed with WWE and performs on SmackDown under the ring name, John Morrison.

John started his wrestling career in 2002 as a competitor on the show, Tough Enough. Tough Enough was a show for prospective wrestlers to compete on and the winner would get a WWE contract. Hennigan won the competition and was then sent to WWE’s then developmental brand Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).

In 2004 on Monday Night RAW Hennigan made his debut under the ring name Johnny Blaze and he was the assistant to Eric Bischoff. The following week his name was changed to Johnny Spade and three weeks later, his name was changed again to Johnny Nitro.

Hennigan eventually returned to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he formed a stable with Joey Mercury and their manager, Melina. As MNM, the stable held the Southern Ohio Valley Wrestling Tag Team Championships before losing in 2005.

In 2005, the team moved back up to the main roster winning the WWE Tag Team Championships twice. A year later, Hennigan switched to singles competition and won the Intercontinental Championship and the ECW Championship. His ring name was also changed to John Morrison.

Morrison joined forces with long time rival, The Miz, in 2007 and won the World Tag Team Championships. He also won the Intercontinental Championship again in 2009. Morrison left the WWE in 2011 having his final match against The Miz on RAW. Hennigan lost that match and returned to the independent scene.

Hennigan wrestled on the independent scene and made a huge name for himself wrestling for many big promotions under various ring names.

In September 2019, Hennigan re-signed with the WWE and made his in ring return in January 2020 defeating Big E. At Super ShowDown in February, he teamed up with The Miz and they won the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships by defeating the New Day. Their title reign ended a few months later when they lost to The New Day.
