R-TRUTH

Ronnie Aaron Killings is a 48-year-old professional wrestler, rapper and actor from Williamsburg, South Carolina. Killings is signed to WWE and performs on RAW under the ring name, R-Truth.

He started his wrestling career after being persuaded by Jackie Crockett, a senior cameraman at World Championship Wrestling, took him to several WCW and Pro Wrestling Federation events and introduced him to various wrestling personalities. Killings debuted in 1997 in the Pro Wrestling Federation as a manager and then spent three years training with Manny Fernandez.

In 1999, Killings debuted in NWA Wildside and he also sent a promo videotape to World Wrestling Federation (now WWE). Under the ring name K-Kwik, he was signed to a two year developmental contract with the WWF and assigned to Memphis Championship Wrestling. K-Kwik debuted on the main roster in 2000 and assigned to a tag team with Road Dogg.

K-Kwik became a singles competitor in 2001 after Road Dogg was suspended from the WWF. He began competing in the hardcore division and defeated Raven for the Hardcore Championship in February but lost it to Crash Holly that evening and then won it again and lost the title again to Holly within seven hours. Killings was released from the WWF the following year.

Killings signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2002 and appeared weekly under the ring name, K-Krush. In July, K-Krush became known as “The Truth” after delivering an angry promo that implied he had been held back because of his race. At NWA-TNA 8, he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Ken Shamrock.

In 2003, Killings teamed with Konnan and B.G. James to form the faction, 3LiveKru. The Kru debuted in August 2003 and won the NWA World Tag Team Championship in November. The Kru held the The NWA World Tag Team Championship titles until January 2004.

After defeating A.J. Styles, Raven and Chris Harris in a four-way title match, Killings became a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Championship in May 2004. His reign only lasted until June 2 but Killings and The Kru regained the NWA World Tag Team titles in November only to lose them in early December.

He continued to wrestle for TNA until the end of 2007 despite his attempts to be released from his contract in August ’07. Killings and Adam “Pacman” Jones teamed up and won the NWA World Tag Team Championships again and lost the titles a month later. Killings was released by TNA.

Killings re-signed with the WWE in 2008 and re-debuted on the SmackDown under the ring name R-Truth on August 29. In May 2010, R-Truth defeated The Miz to win the vacant United States Championship but lost it to The Miz the following month.

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth formed a tag team in 2012 and began chasing Primo and Epico for the tag team titles. On April 30’s episode of RAW, Kofi and R-Truth defeated Primo and Epico to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. They lost their titles at Night of Champions to Kane and Daniel Bryan and failed to regain them the following night on RAW. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston dissolved their tag team after the show.

From 2013 to 2017, R-Truth had various alliances and feuds and in 2018, he was moved to SmackDown after the Superstar Shake-up. He made an alliance with Carmella and she began managing him. They took part in a Mixed Match Challenge where they defeated Jeff Hardy and Charlotte Flair, The Miz and Asuka and then Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox in the finals. Winning the Mixed Match Challenge gave both R-Truth and Carmella the #30 spots in their Royal Rumble matches at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

At the Royal Rumble, R-Truth was attacked by Nia Jax who ended up taking his spot in the men’s Royal Rumble. As a result, R-Truth was granted a shot at the United States Championship match on SmackDown. He defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and captured his second United States Championship since 2012. R-Truth’s reign lasted 35 days.

R-Truth won the new WWE 24/7 Championship title in 2019 after pinning Robert Roode. He appeared on both RAW and SmackDown often accompanied by Carmella defending, losing and regaining the 24/7 Championship to numerous wrestlers. He is a 41-time 24/7 Champion.
