HUMBERTO CARRILLO

Humberto Garza Carrillo is a 28-year-old professional wrestler from Monterrey, Mexico. He is currently signed to the WWE and wrestles for the company’s RAW brand under the ring name, Humberto Carrillo.

Humberto is a third-generation luchador and is the son of Humberto Garza Jr, grandson of Humberto Garza. He is the cousin of WWE Superstar, Angel Garza, and the nephew of Mexican professional wrestler, Hector Garza.

Carrillo started his wrestling career for the promotion, Wrestling in Monterrey, in December 2012 under the ring name, Último Ninja. Carrillo wrestled in various Mexican promotions for six years including Casanova Pro, Nueva Generacion Xtrema, Lucha Libre Del Norte, Lucha Libre Azteca, The Crash Lucha Libre, Chilanga Mask, Empresa Regiomontana de Lucha Libre, RIOT Wrestling Alliance, Promociones MDA and many more.

During his career in Mexico, Carrillo won numerous championships like the PCLL Tag Team Championship, the LyC Tag Team Championship, The Crash Tag Team Championship and the WWA World Middleweight Championship. Carrillo also competed in Pro Wrestling Noah, Baja Stars USA, Martinez Entertainment and Major League Wrestling.

Humberto Carrilllo’s WWE Debut

In August 2018, Humberto started appearing on WWE’s NXT and in October 2018, he officially signed with the company. He made his television debut on NXT on December 5 teaming up with Raul Mendoza in a losing match against Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake of The Forgotten Sons.

In January 2019, Carrillo debuted on 205 Live answering Buddy Murphy’s Cruiserweight Championship open challenge. He wrestled on 205 Live until October 2019 when he was drafted to Monday Night RAW.

Humberto Carrillo’s Main Roster Debut

Humberto made his debut match on the main roster at the end of October 2019 in a losing match against WWE Universal Champion, Seth Rollins. He had two more matches but lost both to A.J. Styles on an episode of RAW and at the pay-per-view event, Crown Jewel. Carrillo’s first win on the main roster came when he teamed with Ricochet and Randy Orton in a match against the O.C. (A.J. Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows) when he pinned Styles. This win earned Carrillo a title shot against A.J. Styles but he was attacked by the O.C. before the match.

In December 2019, Carrillo competed in a number one contender’s Gauntlet match for the United States Championship but was defeated by Andrade. Carrillo was injured during the match and sidelined for several weeks before returning in January 2020.

Humberto Carrillo Returns From Injury

A month after he returned, Carrillo began a feud with his real-life cousin, Angel Garza, in February 2020. He faced Garza at the pay-per-view event Super Showdown but was defeated. Carrillo earned another number one contender spot after defeating Andrade on RAW but failed to capture the title at Elimination Chamber. At Money in the Bank 2020, he entered fifth, defeating Bobby Lashley by disqualification, Angel Garza, and Austin Theory but lost to A.J. Styles.

Humberto began feuding with Seth Rollins after Rollins had injured his friend, Rey Mysterio. He challenged Rollins’ disciple, Murphy to a match on the May 18th episode of Monday Night RAW but he was defeated. Humberto then teamed up with Aleister Black on the following week’s RAW and together they defeated Murphy and Austin Theory. The following week, Carrillo accompanied Black in his match against Rollins where Black was victorious. After the match, Black and Carrillo were attacked by Rollins, Murphy and Theory and both received a Curb Stomp.

Humberto Carrillo Teams with Aleister Black

On the June 29 episode of RAW, Carrillo teamed with Aleister Black again but they were defeated by Buddy Murphy and Seth Rollins. After the match, Rollins and Murphy attacked Carrillo and Black, which ended with Rollins performing a Curb Stomp on Carrillo onto the steel steps. On the July 27 episode of RAW, Carrillo returned and faced Murphy where he was defeated again.

On the September 21st episode of RAW, Carrillo teamed with Dominik Mysterio in a triple threat tag match for a future opportunity for the RAW Tag Team Championship titles. They fought the teams Andrade and Angel Garza and Seth Rollins and Murphy but were defeated. Two weeks later on RAW, Carrillo once again teamed with Mysterio and fought Rollins and Murphy in a losing effort. Following this, Carrillo began wrestling exclusively on Main Event for the next several months.

Humberto Carrillo Returns to WWE Televison

Humberto Carrillo returned to WWE television on the April 9, 2021 episode of SmackDown and participated in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal which he failed to win. He then accepted Sheamus’ open challenge for the United States Championship, but he was attacked by Sheamus before the match started. As revenge, he attacked Sheamus the following week. On the May 10th episode of RAW, Carrillo fought Sheamus but the match was ended by the referee after Carrillo injured his knee.

Two months later, Carrillo fought Sheamus for the United States Championship on the July 12th episode of RAW but was defeated a final time.

Humberto Carrillo Teams With Angel Garza

On the September 20 episode of RAW, Humberto Carrillo formed a tag team with his cousin Angel Garza. The following week on RAW, he helped Garza defeat Erik, cementing his heel turn.

At the WWE Draft in October 2021, both Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza were drafted to the SmackDown brand. On the November 5th episode of SmackDown, the team was named Los Lotharios, with both Carrillo and Garza having shortened their ring names, being billed as Humberto and Angel.
